I need an advice on an AGP video card, help me!

Hallo , as the title say, i need an advice on a new video card, my pc is a pentium 4 3.0 ghz with 1,5 g of ram, and at the moment my graphic card is a nvidia 6600gt.
To upgrade the whole system would cost me a lot, and my pc for now handle without problems actual games, so i want to only upgrade my video card (and make a big system upgrade a year or so from now).
Wich one i can buy? My budget is about 100-150€
For now i have seen a Radeon X1650 Pro 512 Mb TV-Out/DVI AGP at 130 €, it is a good one? Give me your advice, please

I've just put the same video card on my PC .It's good though with M2TW I didn't test it much . For the battles with the Mongols of up to 10000 men I am still sceptic about the performance .But let's see when I get to them I'll tell you.
In fact you do not have better choice . I 've been told in the service 3 days ago,on AGP motherboard you cannot put a newer card .For example ATI X 1800 is already only for PCI Express.

What I would do is change the motherboard for a PCI one and Crossfire .Then you can have 2 cards 1650 on it with the effect of performance better than one 1900 .But of course you won't get 48 pixels !

7600GT would be nice, about 130€ I quess. The next step for AGP would be X1950Pro, which is beyond your budget.
Upgrading to PCI-e isn't quite impossible, if your cpu fits in the new mobo, but then again, there's probably the power supply issue..
Anyhow, 7600GT get's my vote.

I ordered this some days ago, should arrive tomorrow. It will give my agp setup a new life.

A 7600GT is really a good choise; faster than those x1600/1650 cards.
And also faster than a 7800GS card, wich is more than 200 euros in most occasions.
7600GT all the way!




See? A 7600 GT (agp is as good as pci-express as shown above) easily outperforms all other cards, including the x1600.

Thanks for the answers , the 7600gt is interesting, the problem is that is difficult to find the agp version at a good price....
Someone can tell me where i can find more of these benchmarks? I want to see the results for the 1650 pro to make a better decision

thanks spartacus! ugh, after doing a few of these tests, it seems that the improvment from a 6600gt to an ati x1650 pro would be little....could it be?

the x1600 pro was the 6600gt equivelent so it seems right that the x1650 pro is not that much better than the 6600gt.

After looking at that site i would definitly take a 7600gt over it unless you can invet more for a x1950 pro.
