Southern Rock

Southern Rock really comes in several fashions.

Rock-Original Rock was born in the South by people like Elvis Presley.

Southern Rock- What people traditionally consider Southern Rock, it was a fusion of Rock and Southern Country. It made a distinct sound that created such bands as the Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, Black Oak Arkansas ,Lynard Skynard, .38 Special, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, and Blackfoot(The last six all being from Florida ).

Then we have Southern Metal and Southern Hardcore, two genres that I don't like very much.

Anyways any other Southern Rock lovers?

I personally very fond of Lynard Skynard, ZZ Top and the Allman Brothers. Im trying to get some more Black Oak Arkansas music. From what I've heard I really like them, but their music can be hard to find.

I love skynyrd and the allman brothers

They have a commercial over here for a CD set called "Southern Rock." One of the few sets I've seen that I've considered getting.

I listen to the Allman brothers and Drive by Truckers. Though I don't get the term Southern rock as it originated in the south :hmmm:

Rock did start in the South, but a distinct type of music that formed in the 70's is called Southern Rock. It was first started by the Allman Brothers and later done by the Jacksonville groups(Skynard, 38 Special,The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet) among others.
