    Default Favorite Movie Genre?

I have a bit of an obsession with Horror/Sci-Fi movies.

Not all of them.....not even most of them. I won't lie, most Sci-Fi movies suck.

The classics though, that's what I like to watch.

    For instance,

Aliens, Day of the Dead (original), Dawn of the Dead (both original and remake are outstanding), Sphere, Abyss, and of course the classic The Thing

What are some of your favorite Genre's and corosponding movies?

Shuan of the Dead isn't bad either, technicaly a comedy, it's got the same "creepyness" that I love so very much.

I'd have to say comedies followed by action and then war/historical.

Well I like historical (when they are realistic in both accuracy & heat of battle), actions with comedy in them and comedies.

Western at the moment (Spagettis, to be more specific.) I'd say war if there were just a few more good war films. I just love a good historical epic movie, too bad there aren't that many.

What's your opinion on the old Spartacus film?

I know it wasn't as acurate as I'd like it to be, but I like the fact they used extras instead of CG like they do today. I wish they'd have battles with 20,000 extras like they used to, sort of like Ben Hur and the like.

One of the greatest historical films, to me. I'm not sure if it's actually that "good" compared to some other films, but it's surely unforgettable and legendary. Maybe it would have been even better if they'd done it some decades later.. Don't know for sure.. But it's still awesome, I need to watch it again soon.
Haven't seen Ben Hur in like.. five years, so no comment on that.

The action parts in both movies are pretty good for the 60's. The chariot racing scene in Ben Hur is still awesome.
You should try "The 300 Spartans" from 1960, it's along the same line as Spartacus and Ben Hur but with less cheesy dialogue. Just watched it this weekend, it was pretty good. They employed a huge amount of extras for that movie as well. The costumes were pretty good and the historical side of it was probably around 75%. Not too bad...

Hard to decide which genre I like the most, there are great movies to be found in all genres. I would have to say action though, because it can be combined with many other genres.

I'm very fond of any movie that's epic in nature, as long as the acting is good. As long as it doesn't claim to be historically accurate, I don't care. Which is why I had to problem with Troy. I found it a well spent two hours of my live.

I like comedies the best though. A good laugh is welcome anytime

Horror I'm not fond of at all, I'm not entertained by them, and most of them are done distatefully. Plus I'm a wuss....

I don't know but I like those films that retract the decaying society of nowadays...
I'm seeing on the future Donnie the Darko, I guess, cuz it has an excellent soundtrack.

I don't have good memory of the films I watched.

I personally love comedies, but i am fond of history 'inspired' films. also like horrors, action, sci-fi to a degree cant things like starwars. Aliens being by far and away my favourite film followed very quickly by Terminator 2 Judgement Day, who cant help but love those films?

Though over the years i've been becoming more fond of zombie films like shuan of the dead, and the Romeo movies, braindead so good just for the sake of being absolutely repulsive sort of like the evil dead when I think about it...
