wow... he hasn't even been in office for a year.
You think Berlusconi will take center stage again?
that was quick...

As to Berlusconi taking back the rein, improbable. They will try to sneak in some hastily assembled majority, for economic and political reasons.
Economic: the governement has stayed in charge too shortly for parlamentarians to receive the excessively rich social security they get because of their mandate.
Political: the left is far below the right, currently, because Prodi has really been the worst PM of Italian history. He has lost 15% approval in 7 months. Elections mean a new Berlusconi Governement.
This means that both the left and the few and discredited Christian Democrats who have already betrayed their pact with Berlusconi's political alliance, will form a pseudo-institutional governement.
As to this being typical of Italy. No, in truth, this is exceptional. It is the first time a governement falls on external policies in the history of the republic, and obviously, Berlusconi stayed in charge 5 years.
he have resigned after a vote in wich the government was in minority (for 2 votes) on foreign policy, becouse the radical left (that is part of Prodi coalition) has not voted.
He still have his majority in parliament, so it seems that they will make a Prodi-bis government, with little change, i don't think that Berlusconi (for now) will go to the government.
edit: lol ummon same time postyou're really against Prodi?

well Prodi does appear to be a pretty worthless politicianlol ummon same time post you're really against Prodi?![]()
I never liked scarcely intelligent people, in all honesty. Prodi is one.
Berlusconi, with all his faults, is better than Prodi. Even Bush, horribly, is better than Prodi.
This is the second time he is kicked out by his own majority, in less than a year... The next time Berlusconi calls him frontman, I wonder how he will reply...

So Berlusconi was uncharacteristically good as far as Italian politicians go?
