Game Preparations + How Do I Un-Install Chivalry
Well, as Chiv comes with their own preferences settings, here still some tips that help to start/play the campaign (or custom battle) proper after your own taste: (Also, find several help to those points in our FAQ).
A) Options/Settings:
1. Before you load the game: In case ...
a. If you by all means wanna play with the usual vanilla preferences-settings, and not with the better settings of chivalry's interface-settings, then go either into the chivalry folder, find the special preferences folder, and read the preferences readme and proceed.
b. Or copy the preferences from your RTW folder and drop it into the chivalry preferences folder.
2. After loading the game:
a. Go into "Options" menu (make sure you see the RTW patch entry 1.5 or for BI exe game the patch entry 1.6).
b. Go into the video-options.
c. Check every setting there, for example important:
- Resolution? (better use the same for Campaign and Battle - is your video-card/cpu proper able to go with a higher setting than 1024x768x32).
- For example, can your video-card display properly Anti-Aliasing?
- Shadows-settings?
- Note: always let "Unit Shaders" enabled for a proper battle display of the units.
- Grass? Note, grass enabled always "presses" the CPU at most.
- Unit Setting?
- Vegetation?
- Desync?
- Glints?
3. In the game regarding above settings and other settings:
a. Always in the game you can use the ESC-key, here during campaign mode.
b. A menu opens. Do not exit. Choose Options.
c. Find then different settings that you can change while the campaign is running.
4. Arcade Battles: Please never use this setting, it changes the gameplay total, no morale, no stamina etc. ... very bad and unrealistic game then. I wasn't able to remove this menu-tab, otherwise i would.
B) Un-Installation of Chivalry:
(This pressumed, you have Chiv proper installed in the RTW directory)
Go into your RTW folder, and simply delete the chivalry folder manual. Done.
