Looks like I am the first poster - Great work Tornnight!
The new AI is awesome, tweaked is nearly too weak to describe it
Independent Cities are strong now, so the aggressive AI won´t take them son easily anymore. Overall good work, but I´m gonna find the bugs in here!

Would you recomend I start a new campaign or continue what ever I already have going?

Be starting it up in a few minutes. Any factions in particular you are worried about that might need special attention and to be played first?

Bummer on beta 2-no save... I guess ny last two hours were wasted! Oh well tomorrow's a new day, so I'll try beta 3 then..
Oh yeah, thanks for all the hard work... This is begining to shape up as an increasingly nice mod! What provinces did you add? - Nevermind I'll play as the rebels for a turn so I can take a look the new places... Hope you get those new units in time for the next version!

Right on time, just got an unspecified error in Beta 2. I need to learn how to put an error log in so I can know what went wrong.

how different is the EDB and EDU from Beta2?

The EDB is only slightly modified. The EDU is vastly different.

Your log should be in the root of the /SEGA/Medieval II Total War/system.log.txt

I'll be testing out your tweaks soon. I can use your file with my generator program and do a comparison pretty easily.
In fact, I should release the program eventually.

Aaaarrggghhh!!! I didn't notice it had the same identical name as 1.9 beta 2. I overwrote everything.

Oh well, I can't wait to try this out. My wife is going to kill me for this.

1.9 is already very stable. It just changes very often. You can always just grab the beta and stick with it until you finish your campaign.

Small problem with Newel, the new Novgorod castle. On the 3rd turn or so, I got a council mission to increase the troops there by at least 4 units. So far I've built 6 more on top of the 2 units I had there when the mission was offered. Went from 2 units to 8 units, still no mission completion. Something isn't triggering.

Upped it to 10 total, still no trigger. Went back to a previous save and sent a general into Newel. Didn't build any troops there. Next turn, mission completed. Even though I went from the initial 2 units to just those plus a general.

Hmm, thats odd. Thats a vanilla bug then. I haven't touched those missions.

Was wondering if it might be something to do with Newel. Does seem like a vanilla bug. I recall getting mission completions just by adding a general before, thinking about it. I just don't remember not being able to complete it all no matter how many non-general units I add. I think I just got bit by a random bug. Some green tea and the new beta will solve all.

Will 1.9 saves be compatible with the final?

One thing that has definitely impressed me is that the AI doesn't go running off taking rebel territories one after another now. That was my biggest worry, especially when Hungary and Poland did it, setting them up for a big fall when the Mongols arrive. Now they're much more deliberate, it seems. Well done!
I think I figured it out, while individually, each unit cost has been lowered, the Byzantines do start off with a hefty army (so spread out that it seems small) and navy. Now that my economy has kick started (roads are built, same with merchants and ports), I'm making a whole lot of money, even with 2 full stack armies.

ok its happend three times now that my generals in battle...on huge size the...of the first 3-5 that die one of them is the actual general...two of them were actually in the same battle and the leading general was the first death in his unit. now i only have 3 family memebers and one is 59 and one has been married for about 10 turns with no babies. stroke of bad luck?
Torn, I like the whole guild idea, btw, could you also implement a change in the Templars/Hospitallers guilds to allow a player access to both? I saw a thread on this somewhere here in TWC.

Good thing I use Patzinaks (Skythikon), don't need to engage anything in melee combat (if they are infantry). Although I've "lost" several battles even though I suffered no (or little) loss and my enemies are decimated, because my Greeks are intelligent.

BTW, I've been meaning to ask, what is up with my idiot Byzantine Cavalry? They are supposed to be better than the Skythikon, but so far, my 2 units were slaughtered even though I told them to keep their distance from the freaking infantry spearmen.

Sorry, mate. Didn't mean to sound like I was saying that your mod is crash city! I find that I get quite a few 'medieval has encountered an unspecifed error' messages during seige battles, with pretty much all mods that I've tried. It doesn't seem to happen in vanilla. I've unpacked and deleted both the files that have to go. Do you have any idea what could be causing this? Could it be down to settings being too high? Anyway, keep up the good work!
