well its interesting but ist not correct, armor upgrade gives really only +1 but in some way make the unit stronger. but never like +5 like this guys says

Lusted: Try Point Blank EDU. Its based on +1 upgrades. he has 12 levels for upgrade. All attack stats are reduced, based on amount of Kinetic energy they are capable deliver. (longsword about 115-150J) and Armor based how much energy is needed to penetrate (Partial Plate 150J,Gothic Full Plate 310J... etc)
I'm playing with this EDU quite a long time, and i can ensure you, it works perfectly. every upgrade (+1,+2,+3) is worth of buy.because even +1 helps to survive hits, that should be fatal for armor of lower quality - Longsword is able to penetrate Heavy mail,but if unit is upgraded to Partial Plate - unit became quite resistant aginst LongSword. etc.
Most of those tests, that shows unit with armor 4 leather act similar like unit with armor 1 leather, it is caused by shield bug combined with those animation vectors Darth found.
those test were done vs. archery
shieldbug does not apply there
it looks like very convincing evidence to me

I had in the past the same opinion in this. Maybe there is a slight internal variance than +1...but it is still minor to the upgrades available and the visuals.
Therefore I am not convinced.
PointBlank's solution is very good.
My sideeffect solution with the animation vectors is giving the exact benefits I want also.
If in the patch, CA is going to actually implement a sophisticated upgrade system they will relieve us from all these inventions.
Well im running some tests and the results do indeed point to more thana +1 internal effect.
