Do you? and why?
I'm an American, I will be rich
I'm an American, I will not be rich
I'm a European, I will be rich
I'm a European, I will not be rich
I'm other, I will be rich
I'm other, I will not be rich
Do you? and why?
Sure I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is Im not. I honestly feel that America is the best country and all other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.
Erm... I'm half American half British... hope to be a successful journalist.![]()
what do you mean your half american? Either way, as a journalist, do you think you will be rich?
Sure I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is Im not. I honestly feel that America is the best country and all other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.
My mother was American and my Dad British. I lived half my life in America and half in the UK, and if I get into the nationals, sure.
I hope I will not be rich. If I do become so, I'd hope my friends would shoot me, heh.
Remember LOMBARD : Lot's of money but a right dickhead.
Always happens: rich = bad.

Well, I'm Russian but moved to America.
My parents are somewhat wealthy and the prospects for my future are rather good at the moment, hope to go into law.
And yes, I'll undoubtedly be rich compared to 80% of the world, even if I become a crackhead on welfare.
Yeah, I'l do well in life, more so due to my parents than me though.
As long as I keep good grades and work hard I'll be a partner in my Dad's firm (he is the managing partner) by 33ish.
Of course, this all very well depends on how I choose to conduct myself. If I don't work 12-14 hour weeks for the next ten years, my life will be a hollow shell and I'll be forced to make up for the lack of money with artifical stimulants like love or happiness.
Where's the screw it all, I don't give a **** option?
I honestly don't really care if I am either way. All I care for is the ability to have an average way of life, doing something I hopefully enjoy. End of!![]()

I don't plan on lighting cigars with $100 bills, but I do plan on having enough money to afford a bit of freedom. So as an American, I guess I have to say I'll be rich.
The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all.
H. L. Mencken
I too want to be a Journalist and I believe I will be rich and happy at the same time. This is what is called Law of Attraction. We attract what we ask for.

Umm, I don't know. It depends what career I undertake, really.
I assume the purpose of this thread is to measure what portion of American respondants say they'll be rich compared to what portion of European respondants say so, and somehow -- in JP's mind -- show that America is richer, more powerful and, thus, better than Europe.
Seems sort of pointless, really.
Realistically, financially security is a possibility, but great wealth? No. I don't even want to be filthy rich. Wealth and power are the two most dangerous things to possess. Don't get me wrong, I plan on being productive, but rich? There are two ways to get wealth: honestly and dishonestly. About 5-10% of those who are wealthy got there by being honest. I plan on being honest, and I will see where that takes me.
Define 'rich'.
Otherwise it's just a poll on perceptions.
