    Default LTC 2.1 Won't Run!!! HELP!

    I just installed LTC 2.1, I doubled-clicked the icon on the desktop and it just started up regular old MTW 1.1 Vanilla.
    I doubled-checked that 2.1 got installed to the correc directory and even uninstalled it, then ran it again...why won't it start up correctly?? Someone please help. I love MTW II but I want it to be better and this mod saounds great!

    Check your landstoconquer.cfg file.

    If the beginning looks like this:

    [features]
    mymod = landstoconquer[video](or something similar)

    Then change it to:

    [features]
    mymod = landstoconquer

    Lusted,
    I opened the .cfg file and it was like you said, so I tried to change it, but when I did I got an erroe message saying:

    "Cannot create the C:\Program files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\landstoconquer.cfg file."

    Is there some kind of program I need to to edit a cfg file?

    You are not clicking the original MTW2 Icon are you? When I initially installed LTC I didn't have an icon ... I just clicked the exe file in the LTC folder after that one time a new icon for LTC just appeared and I have used it since with no problems. I hope this helps!

    No, i have been clicking on the LTC 2.1 shortcut on my desktop, and I have even tried just running the batch file directly from the folder. Whatever I do it still comes up the same. But like I said, I tried editing the .cfg file the way Lusted said to, but it won't let me save it, anyone have any thoughts on this? (see above)

    Here are my launch files ... maybe that will help?

    OK why did the attachments not show up? But anyway see if this is correct!

    "D:\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\Launch_LandsToConquer.bat"

    this is what the target should look like ...

    D:\SEGA ... this might be different depending on what drive yours is installed more likely C:

    Yeah the launch file and everything is fine. The batch file runs, but then when the game starts, its regular 1.1
    I think lusted is probably right about editing the .cfg file, but it wont let me save it once i edit it and I dont know why

    Is it one of those read only files ... because if it is then you have to click that off make the changes and then make it read only again so it will work right!

    Nope, its not read only and my system says I have permission to edit it, but like I said, then it won't save with that file name

    Cut and paste the .cfg text into a new file and then replace it.

    Or open the file with right-click and choose EDIT, not OPEN or double-click.

    Hope this helps.
