For all of us sensitive guys Here is a poem I just wrote in the last 5 minutes.

    Original version

"Each day I turn a new leaf,
    find another belief,
The possibilities endless in my mind,
    ever growing all the time,
    -me

    Newest version

"Each day I turn a new leaf,
    find another belief,
The possibilities endless in my mind,
    ever growing all the time,
    I explore these and myself,
    finding new depths and strengths,
some of these good and some malicious,
I learn more of who I am,
    and what I am,
    but more importantly,
    I learn why I am"
    -me

I may expand on it as my mind finds more

    the worst kind of person

I claim to be a individual separate from the herd, but am really just another sheep
I promote moderation in all aspects of life, but wish for excess
I deride those who do not appreciate their potential, but wallow in self-pity of personal failures
I am the worst kind of person
Do as I say, not as I do
I am the worst kind of person

Here's a short one I came up with the other day. It's not the best, but it's alright.

As the bad days sun sinks behind cold mountains
A new days sun arises from the fronzen embers

As the weathered heart beats its last
A fresh life finds a new world

As hope fails and life seems lost
An inner strength finds a way out

As children cry and parents stress
A newfound peace makes its rest

As hatred raynes free and ignorance soars
An inner truth begins to open closed doors

And as existence seems stained, lost in translation
A new answer finds its way, a new truth in anticipation

    Of Sugar Hill?
    Cast your gims
    On this sepia thrill:
    Brown sugar lassie,
    Caramel treat,

    Sweet enough to eat.
    Peach-skinned girlie,
    Coffee and cream,
    Chocolate darling
    Out of a dream.

    Chimera by Bad Religion

"You took a time bomb and a case of crackers
and you made a maelstrom of organic debris

Then you took a workbench and a rusty anvil
and you polished them for everyone to see

You have created an unhealthy monster
but you're nowhere but nowhere to be found
and i guess i'll just cope with my provisions
from now until the day they lay me down

You took a baboon and made him perfect
you took a lion and stripped him of his pride

Then you took a million more varieties
a scalpel and sartory and you stitched up a horrible surpries

You have created an unsocial monster
and you're searched for all over the globe
and most believe that things could sure be better
if you come down here and tell us what you know
who is to blame for this? someone tell me please
his handywork is flawed and it's there for all to see

    Mutations abberations and blatant anomalies
they multiply and give rise to this monstrosity

You took the most abundant smallest bit of matter
and you instilled them with affinity
    and then you stratified accumulations
weeded out bad variations and blended up your unique recipe

You have created a powerful monster
with direction and purpose all it's own
and if you were here would things be any different?
Or are you just a mosaic of afterthoughts alone?
If God were a man he'd be me.

At first i simply observed. But i found that without investment in others, life serves no purpose.

    Walking the street,
    I hear my feet,
I look up at the rising towers,
    they look quite sour,
    hearing the honking of horns,
    a sign advertising corn,
the skateboarder, with his 4 wheels,
    barely evades the banana peel.
The great stench of the buses' fumes,
    that stench it looms,
me head is full of wonder,
    yet has been ripped asunder
    by an unknown force,
I guess I took the wrong course.

I just made it off the top off my head, so don't blame me if it doesn't make sense.

Strange. I actually find meaning into that piece I like it Talks about the city. And then you get by a automobile offering a dramatic ending

    Here's another:

    PREDECIDING

Our anger, our pain... our predeciding
Three things true, now plague society
From these three truths come anxiety

Filtered through our past we see
    This ignorance now uncontrolled
For we've lost ourselves in this eternal sea
A sea of unknowing, a sea meant to be the hold

Freezing the light before life feeds the sight
Endangered we become now in this fight
For we strangled our only child
Now we must realign our lives
In order to reignite or be exiled

If we open eyes and compramise
Will we ever be here again to realize
The people deep within our lives
Will never be back again to be ostracized

We say we want the good
Only to turn around and bring the bad
To this I have never understood
Now remembered, this reminds me to be sad

    Love, one word
    yet it conceives many meanings,
    a universal word,
    understood by all,
    it is more complicated,
    then anything else,
something no one can fully understand
    it is abundant everywhere,
    something all animals share
it is something you can't automatically have
    nor is it exclusive
it is something that is given to you unexpectedly
it is a gift to everyone from everyone
Whoever gives nothing, has nothing. The greatest misfortune is not to be unloved, but not to love.

I wrote this poem a while ago, and I haven't really had any inspiration since the. XD I posted it in another forum back in December

I couldn't think of a title so I just randomly called it Canvas.

Yes, I know, I don’t pretend I know what life is
And yet it’s standing right before me.
Yes, I think that if I could I’d try to explain
It’s a feeling; it’s a thought, the distance between we,
Creeping up my spine, a fire in my mind
Telling me that there’s something wrong with this place
I want to know what it means to pass the test
Ascend into heaven, with god against my chest,
Chains of explanations taking time to make up their minds
The choir song puts all thoughts to rest
I don’t quite understand it, but it’s beautiful I’m sure.

Cry blue sky, cry, you know why it’s come to the point
Where a cloud can obscure the thought of motion
Caught in the crossfire of some sort of notion
Believing in something new, believing in something you do.
But you have to be joking, there’s no way that life can be so impossible
Yes I know that it isn’t fair, but does that make it right to not care?
I dream and wonder what the world is beyond that stare

I feel drawn to ask, faced with this task, of decoding the message hidden in the wild
How did the innocent eyes of the mirror go blind?
How did the storm find me here in my mind?

I understand a little more, when I see the sun at my window when I wake
And I look at the sand out there by the sea, and I look at the clouds coming in late
Somehow I see, I see you, I see me, and I see the sea challenge man in fate.
And out there in the skies, beneath the where’s and above the why’s,
Is there ever any reason for some cosmic treason,
When the sun and the moon see eye to eye?
And I, I find that the more I search my mind, the less I can argue
The more that I’m reminded of the speed of time the less I could fight
It seems there is no substance to light
And no longer anything right about right.
Sitting in the middle of that cold night, watching war in reverse,
The silicon mother of love in the gutter,
    The dam broke that day,
Spilt all the signs on the canvas of our minds
    And it’s beautiful

Music rings in the hall, which rings against the wall,
A lovely memory, sound of time and you can see
    The music’s gone,
And the shadows can run, shoot the sun,
And it’s alright, here in my delirium.

But now at port, death for sport,
Time for age, a turn of the page,
It’s been a long, long time now,
    Years exchanged for fears,
    And fears fermented to wine.
A final toast to auld lang syne
And I yes, I know, I can’t pretend to know what this world is.
But amid the last of the clouds,
    I feel fine,
Amid the depths of the sound,
I’m safe here in my mind.
    The orchestra recalls the overture,
    And its beautiful I’m sure.

    I've got one in portuguese:
    Eu

    Odeio
    o que nao odeio,
    adoro
    o que nao adoro.
    Indiferença
    faz a diferença.

    Neutralidade
    não é ambiguidade.

In english I'll come up with one in 5 minutes:...

    Felt in sorrow,
    Covered by eternal darkness,
    Instaled in a burrow,
    Now I find happiness.

    And I'm not even english...

    Distant struggles forging newfound pain
Forgotten lies emerging as a remembered stain
Ancestors' cries surge forth from the past
Writhed by this some put on their mask
A mask made to blind weakened eyes
Against torents of past memories despised
Why can we not sit together and realize
As our people once did before we compromized
    Fear and doubt
Lossed cultures to which we know nothing about
    Arisen from blindness and misunderstanding
Our past is but another form of branding
Seared into hearts, lossed in the storm
Our forgotten struggle won't let us reform
For we turned our heads in such utter disgrace
And by doing this we contaminate the human race
So as long as we dodge the past and the truth within
We will never find the end to which we can begin

Rain is a doubled edged sword,
    Calming yet violent,
    Harsh yet cleansing,
    It purifies the mind,
    It purifies the soul,
It is a rhythm of life,
    Pittering and pattering,
    Whenever it wants,
    It mesmerizes the masses,
    It mesmerizes the world,
It is a gift of calming,
It is a way of meditation,
It is a way of liberation

The choice is made as you open the door
Once inside your want comforts you to the chair
The chair once seated allows none to leave
But this fact may not be readily seen
For your want has put darkness in your eyes
As time passes you stay in the chair
Not remembering just how long you were there
You turn your head to stair at blank walls
Seeing the clock you realize the room
this room you entered has blinded your heart
But now the door is locked and your mind won't go
    Your heart aches with sickness
    Your mind won't realize
Loved ones warn you from outside
    Still you refuse to listen
    The darkness fills the room
    Slowly fading you out
Now the room has darkened and you cannot be seen
Your soul is lossed and you're a shadow of the past

Bummer, I was down for a some more poetry exchange, thats cool, it had to stop somewhere.

Thank you, you have some very good poems yourself. I find my inspiration from life and everything within. Mostly I just start to write about something that I find to be important, interesting, or touchy and then the structure, words and rhyme develope from there. It's kind of like flowing (if you've heard of the art), but with words on a piece of paper instead of outloud. It only takes me a few minutes to write most of my poems, because I don't change them around and I tend to be able to "flow" with it, so it comes naturally and quick. Although I have had some poems that I spent hours on, but those are rare.
