Default Which drivers should I use?

I'm having a hard time deciding between which drivers I should use for my ATI Radeon X1900XTX video card. So far on my computer, I have the 7.1 Catalyst drivers, the 7.1 Catalst + Omega drivers, and the 6.10 Catalyst drivers. I decided to go with the 7.1 Catalyst ones in the end, but it seems as if my computer runs a bit slower (evident when I compared FPS speeds in Supreme Commander). Or maybe it might just be me.

But from your perspective, which of these drivers do you think are the best? Or should I not go with any of these at all and instead some other ones? I figured I should update since I hadnt updated since February of 2006, information I found out about two days ago. And for further note, I have Windows XP, not Vista.

omega drivers tend to be better optimised than the normal drivers id go with them but i don't use a radeon so i don't know how well omega drivers perform on radeon cards.

I would use the Catalysts drivers, ATI/AMD make pretty good drivers these days and you can overclock your graphics card from the control centre if you want to.

I have never noticed a whole lotta difference detween Omega and NGO drivers and the Catalyst and Forceware drivers to be honest. Freddie makes a good point in that all your OCing options are tied to the Catalyst and nForce Control panels, the ATI Tray Tools, etc, so you might as well use the standard drivers. Both companys are releasing drivers so fast and frequent these days that it's probobly hard to improve upon them before the next generation is released anyway! The drivers for the X1900XTX are mature by now, so I would find a set that makes you happy (probobly something released around Oct/Nov of last year and leave them alone....
