    Default Advice on VCore Mod

Hello. I would like to push my system a little further by doing a well-known Vcore mod on my Asrock 939 Dual Sata2.

    Link:

Could you give me some advice on things I can do to ensure I won't screw up? Could I surround the links with tape? If so, what kind should I use? etc....

I don't have a soldering tool either, is there anyway I could do it without one? If not, I could probably get a hold of one.

    Thanks,

have you got enough cooling because this will increase your temps quite a lot and it can't be undone without making a mess of your motherboard.

It's probably not a great idea to do this without a soldering iron since you can't guarentee that what you do will be secure. You would probably have to use something like foil and tape which is dangerous.

You are probably better off going to a dedicated overclocking forum with this sort of overclocking isn't common place and the advice you get here would probably be of a significantly lower quality than it would be on something like extremeoverclocking.com.

If you use tape, make sure its electrical tape. You can buy that (for very cheap) at any hope repair store. Other than that, it is conceivable to use something besides soldering, but I'm not gonna endorse it. I guess in a pinch you could try some thermal paste that has really good electrical conductivity. But I wouldn't do it if I were you.

Anyways, good luck and you might want to make sure you have a computer that can act as a 'backup' in case this mod goes south.
