    Default Pfft just my luck

Great just got my pc repaired so i start it up guess what the stupid sound card wont work.
I downloaded the drivers for it ,i get the message that they cant find the card.
So i open up the pc but found nothing strange and the sound card was right there where it suppose to be.

    Any suggestions?

whats your sound card and operating system ? sometimes its best to manually install drivers instead of auto. It can be a pain but you need a little patience , I ran into some issues installing my video cards like that , clean install and everything just had to keep messing with the machine.

    I have Xp Professional
I dont know the sound card but all i know it that its needs Creative Audigy Live!
And what i found weird was that i think that there where 2 cards 1 in the mother board and one seperate one.

ahaa , go into bios and make sure the audio setting is disabled , that should turn off your onboard sound.

sure , when you reboot your comp you get a splash screen that states your chip and memory stats , ect before it boots up windows. When you see the splash screen hold down the delete button on your keyboard and it will eventually say that you are entering set-up. Then the set-up screen comes up and you are now in the system bios menu. Tab through the different areas and eventually you will come across onboard sound , ethernet and anything else you motherboard is capable of running. Then just toggle sound off and hit f10 to save and tada you are now booting up windows and should soon be listening to your soundblaster.

He might have set-up a password. I suggest getting a hold of him and finding that out. You can also try a generic password like "admin" for sign in and "password" for password. or just hit ok without typing anything.
