I think the mercenaries in the game are not correct.
Every medieval army was formed with great mercenary numbers. No ruler cauld permit to field permanent armies so the Mercs were a simply route to expansion wars. Think, as example, to William the Conqueror. When he went to his campaign to seize the English throne one third of his army were mercenaries.
But in the game many players simply don't use them.
So this is my propose to put the game in a more realistic medieval way.
1 Mercs have to be recluted by a building (like the tavern) in townes and castles and not outside.
2 Every recluting building for military units in townes and castles have to permit only a bounded (limited) of them on the map.
ex. a building that reclute knights can't have no more than 2 units for type bounded to this building on the map.
In this way the players can't have great home armies and they have to use mercenaries.
3 For balancing the mercs must have lesser morale and be more expensive to mantain, of course.
What do you have to say?
