Default Anyway to control where Marius reformation resource appears (or at least find out which one it is in)?

The Marius reformation depends on a city with the hidden resource "Italy" reaching huge size. This city is a random city in Italy. Is there any way to control which city this resource appears in? Or if not, is there anyway you can look in your save file to see which city it is?

look in data/world/maps/campaign/campaign_name/descr_regions.txt, search for 'italy' and you will find which cities currently have that resource, you can change which cities have it in that file, if you do change that, you need to delete or re-name your map.rwm and start a new campaign for it to have affect.

Welcome to the forums - and don't forget to make back-up copies of any files before you change them.

Thanks! Newbie question here - what's the difference between the Imperial Campaign and the Sons of Mars Campaign?

Also, what effect would editing descr_regions.txt under data/world/maps/base have?

ah sorry been working on modded stuff too long.

Sons of Mars is a mini introductory campaign with a smaller map - don't bother changing anything in there unless you're playing that.

The imperial_campaign is the main campaign, the one you select from the top of the entry menu - rather than provincial campaign menu. As you spotted that doesn't initially have descr_regions.txt in it. If the campaign folder doesn't have a version of the files in /base then the version in /base is read instead. So you could either alter the one in base, or copy the contents of the base folder into your imperial_campaign folder (or provincial campaign folder, if you were making new provincial campaign). If you copy the files that are in base into the campaign_name folder then the new map.rwm gets generated in the campaign_name folder instead of in base.

Uh that didn't sound that clear even to me - hope you understood
