"To know a thing well, know its limits. Only when pushed beyond its tolerances will its true nature be seen." -The Amtal Rule, DUNE
Corporations can only rape if their governments do nothing. Point being, capitalism works only if the court of law is there to protect you from fraud and violence. In poor third world countries, the governments do not give property rights, and thus have no court system to work with.
Erik
Even if the institutions of the raped countries are easily dominated by far more powerful external institutions? The external legal and financial institutions used to dominate carry far more clout. Of course, it's a bonus if the President of the US turns a blind eye to these activities, as Paul Singer was the biggest donor to his campaign.
Though these activities are some of the many natural niche developments of Capitalism, this is not the topic here. If you wish to discuss Capitalism, do so in the appropriate thread. This is about morally depraved Corporations - and how anything is a potential buck to them, and how they exploit laws to do obviously amoral things.

As opposed to morally depraved politicians? A corporation is a business. If you want to live in society where there are no incentives to create a buck, please move to Cuba. Blaming corporations for the fault of government has become all too popular on the left. The countries that see their people ‘raped’ by corporations are the tyrannical regimes that are anti-free market.
Erik
There's a difference between promoting 'incentives to make a buck' and blindly deregulating and encouraging a culture of 'making a buck' AT ANY COST, as the only yardstick and metre of one's merit - to encourage evil, amoral psychopaths from 'making their bucks' giving it in the ass to those with hopelessly weaker innate bargaining power and destroying anyone who opposes them. Capitalism is good - but it must be allowed only on just and fair terms - government-imposed terms. Capitalism is about doing all you can to make your bones WITHIN THE RULES - so let government have the SPINE to enforce meaningful rules and stop shouting down those trying to stop oppression by calling them enemies of freedom. Enemies of freedom - yes - the freedom to abuse.
