    Default Mod to remove vices from game and make leaders immortal?

    Is there a mod that removes vices from the game (that is, makes it so your leaders can't get them)? If not, how would I go about making one myself? Also, is it possible to make my leaders never die of old age and how (or is there a mod already out that does this)? Thanks.

    You can't make them immortal, age they die at is hardcoded within a certain random range. You could more turns out of them if you use a multiple turn per year script mod - one that has only one winter every so many turns, as winter is what controls ageing process of characters.

    To stop them getting bad traits you don't want, look in data/export_descr_character_traits.txt
    you can comment out (use ; before each line) the triggers for any traits you don't want generals to get.

    If any generals start game with traits you don't want they can be removed in data/world/maps/campaign/campaign_name/descr_strat.txt

    Can we change that random range, because my generals always dies between 61-65 nowadays

    No you can't change the range that was bit I meant was hardcoded. I didn't state what it was, as I'm not 100% sure, I think I've had occasional leaders get into 80's but most do seem to go soon after 60. I'd guess they get a percentage chance of dying per turn after a certain age, but afaik none of that is moddable.

    You can set a starting age of over a hundred if you want them older.

    The best thing to do to represent immortality in RTW/BI is to change the death messages/title/image to imply that the character has gone somewhere rather than popped his clogs...

    Thanks a bunch. Getting more turns out of them will do. I was only able to locate the following do-it-yourself multiple turn per year script, though. The only other version I could find is for RTR. This is what I found:

    The download link in the thread is dead, only the do-it-yourself thing is useful. Is there any version of the script that I don't have to do something to load everytime I load a saved game? Or at least, do you have any working links to any multiple-turn-per-year scripts? Thanks.

    Lol, yeah, I was thinking somewhere along those lines, except I was thinking 11 summers to 1 winter - not 999.

    People suddenly croaking at any time after 65 is one reason I wanted to do this. They're as good as dead at that point. What's the use of a general who dies on the eve of a major battle, not of an assassin's blade but of old age?

    I play for the feeling of HISTORICAL immersion LOL. Immortal generals are a little too much for me. Why not just play realistically and have them retire to a nearby comfortable, wealthy city when they hit 60?

    They usually deserve a rest! And besides, it adds an extra element to the game when you have to focus on getting lesser generals' stats up.

    There are ways to avoid vices. The main ones I think are-

    (1) Never have more than 50,000 denarii in the "bank" at the end of a turn (gives generals in cities negative vices)

    (2) Never leave a general idle in the field for too long

    There are others, you can find the triggers in the EDCT.txt mentioned above. Just avoid them.

    Well, that's not how I prefer to play. I don't play for historical immersion. The last time I played RTW, the constantly dying leaders and vices got so annoying I couldn't stand to continue to play and uninstalled the game. I know how to avoid giving your leaders vices. That's just not a gameplay mechanic I appreciate. I love hoarding money.

    Hence, the reason I want to mod - so I can play the game the way I prefer to play it.
