I'm playing with kingdom of Denmark and i've few questions...


Theres "crusades" in chivalry?

if yes how this work ?

how become a crusade "nation" ?

the crusade nations are: Hre, France, Engalnd, Siculo-Normans, simply proclaim a crusade ( build crusade proclamation in specific settlments ) and attack the holy land, there theres a crusade state procalmation and you will be able to recruit special crusade troops and mercanaries, i believe that the Hre can also crusade in the baltic region......

but who "proclaim a crusade) in wich settlements ???

would another factions join to help? seems now lil hard since HRE have betrayed ...me and start a war

1) Cusades into "Holy Land": Factions HRE, France, Normans and England.
Look into the crusade-proclamation building description, there you'll get info about the goal regions etc..
Some main settlements can proclaim the crusade ... just look around a bit in the above factions' home-regions.

2) Crusades into Baltic lands: Factions HRE, Danmark and Poland. Not by crusade-proclamation. Look into the building-browser if you have occupied Baltic regions, there you can see a hospital, which provides Baltic-Crusader units.

Hint: Take a look into the pinned AAR thread, and look out for Garnier's AAR for example, he has some screenshots about crusade-campaigning with England, there you can see a few of the possible crusader-units.

wich is the city level to build those builidings?

I`m not sure if there is a city level limit, but you can always check the building browser if you have similar type of questions.

...there is a city level for the Baltic-areas: large-city, and then you have to build a hospital. Large-City to reflect the historical time of those crusades. You have to occupy ie. Prussaie first. Danmark and Poland can recruit then 'Sword Brethren' knights. HRE can recruit these and plus Teutonic Order knights/soldiers. This addition (Baltic crusade) is the historical reflection of the wars between catholic leaders and the heathens in these Baltic lands (from the start, the Baltic regions have all 100 % pagan belief).

i've complete my victory conditions task

now ill try start my baltic crusades , this if i got ceasefire with england and defeat HRE , half of them lands under my domain:hmmm:

Actually i don't know how you could have achieved the win conditions already with Denmark without occupying the most Baltic lands, as they are part of the conditions, if i remember right now ... i will check this still.

but i did that

some regions using army and some i've just bribe them to join at my faction (this coz i've a growing economy) trade,taxes,tributes...

but denmark isn't the most hard faction on game , but i've doubts about how much time ill hold this all lands, without riots or invasions :hmmm:

i never get their economy boost! i always just make like 800-1200 each turn..

i think they're very easy !! you just need hold the borders on south HRE (they ill betray you soon or later) !!

but you can conquer norway,sweden,finland and baltic countries without allmost no resistence...

of course in my case i've bribe some cities of poland kingdom to control them ports and control the baltic trade !!

Aetegina, do you refer on 0.90/Hotfix02 version?
I thought, i made it still a bit harder with that version compared to 0.65, also for Scandinavia.

And always, if people talk about hard or not hard campaign, they should name their difficulty settings. Every setting in Chiv below H/H or H/VH or VH/H is naturally pretty easy for experienced TW gamers. And for a quite hard campaign-game it should be just VH/VH.

Further, i believe, people should play with some houserules, that increase the flair and the difficulty, ie. historical campaign-play and/or never change the (historical) capital and/or don't take ahistorical or obvious AI-dumbness tributes, do not destroy every foreign culture building, do not re-train every unit, just to list only some of the options, to increase the difficulty, the historical flair and with that the immersion of the campaign-experience.

well this depends of the player estrategy !!

in my opinion , hard can be duchy of bohemia or armenia-cilicia !!

I've just hold the borders on south (prevent HRE) invasion , and i've try make cities grow faster and upgrade more faster i can , to fight with the best units, but of course i've make trade agreements with everybody and i give priority to conquer towns with sea ports of course some regions i gain using bribery !!

Well this haven't be easy , i've lose battles too but HRE and Italians they're too much powerfull both have destroyed the sicilians,france, byzantine empire...i was nothing near of them empires O_o

actually i'm just with rtw , but wich differences are between play with rtw 1.5 or with rtw-bi 1.5 ?

well, If you were to play with BI 1.6 (if you dont have BI, you can only patch RTW to 1.5) it is noted that, on occasions, the AI is "smarter" and more aggressive on the campaign map. Also, it is much more capable of performing naval invasions (which you rarely see in RTW).

when i played denmark in 0.65 i too thought it was.. well, not easy, but easier than in .90
i find it hard to conquer some regions in the start, because of the nearly-no military you start out with.. every city has something like 17 units in it, battle experianced thats my problem, i mostly just autoresolve, i don't have the time to play all the battles, and then i loose quite often...

and, i play with VH/VH
i might try H/H though..

Might be you misunderstood, what Drak said above. I try to explain:

- You can patch RTW max. to version 1.5.
- You can patch RTW-BI max. to version 1.6.
- BI is the expansion for RTW, that means, naturally you have to install RTW and then BI.
- Speaking of the original RTW and BI CD-versions (not the Gold or Era's pack), RTW is then version 1.0, and BI installs itself as BI 1.4, and RTW is patched then to 1.3 (hope, i'm not wrong).
- If you have RTW 1.0 (orifinal CD version) installed plus the expansion BI (original CD version), then you only need to install the patch "BI 1.6".
- If BI 1.6 patch is installed, then your RTW is automatically patched to 1.5.

So the install-way as summery: (if we speak about the original CD versions)

1. Install RTW CD, that is then version 1.0.
2. Install BI CD, what is then RTW 1.3 and BI 1.4.
3. Install the patch 1.6 (from TW.com or whatever source). What is then RTW 1.5 and BI 1.6.

-> Upgrade is done for both: RTW 1.5 and BI 1.6! Check it out in Options menu. Though the right CD must be inserted to check the version entries 1.5 (RTW CD) or 1.6 (BI CD).

-> Next, decide with which exe you wanna play Chiv: RTW (1.5) or BI (1.6). ---> See the Chiv readme's concerning the little start-shortcut path-change for playing with BI exe.
-> Then, for playing with RTW exe, just insert RTW CD 1, or for playing with BI exe, just insert the BI CD. That's all, and must work this way. There is no other way possible! A RTW 1.6 or BI 1.5 isn't possible

(I have no clue about the relations with the Gold or Era's pack versions, but it should be the same, although they changed the default install directory).

In case, somebody has installed RTW, and patched it to version 1.5 via the separate patches 1.3 and 1.5, then you should be able to install BI with the BI CD. And then after this, just the patch 1.6, and you have just BI 1.6 as result, if the BI CD is inserted, or with the RTW CD inserted, it is just RTW 1.5.
