question to people who use mods
ive played various mods such as lands to conquer, DLV, and the long road and the first 50 turns always follow the same patern no matter who i go. the early aim is to of course gain as many rebel faction as possible so why doesnt the AI do this? is it so hard to script?
by the time ive taken 6 or 7 settlements all the AI factions have usually only taken 1 or 2 ot maybe 3 at most. started a game as sicily for eg and by the time i had taken 7 settlements france hadnt taken any! this normally sets the tone of the game which becomes a bore, the immersion just disapears when i see AI armies wandering aimlessly around the map bypassing rebel settlements.
maybe the problem is the game itself and i'l have to wait for the patch but cant the modders make the AI expand more aggresively?
oh and i play on H/H
if anyone has played a mod which fixes the above issue please let me know

Re: question to people who use mods
I play the long road, in most games by about 30 turns in there are very few rebel settlements left on the map.

Re: question to people who use mods
With LTC also there`s not much Rebel towns left. Brudges sometimes is still rebels but that city has always a full stack army in it. And usually it`s not early units they are better than the ones you and the AI can recruit from the start.

Re: question to people who use mods
Not a mod, but rather a bit of self-limiting...
Try (when using DLV or Dearmad's traits mods) to restrict yourself to only building/recruiting in cities where the Governor (with the appropriate trait title) is present. I do this now and find that I have to restrict my initial land-grab to reasonable proportions until my generals have increased their numbers somewhat.
Probably someway to mod this in using traits and building/recruitment requirements, but what's the point when you self-limit yourself?

If you play tLR, DLV, LTC you should play the campaign on VH because they all use the same AI from GrandViz.
Why not follw some houserules, develop first the economy and then start attacking ?
