Default How to play after download?

I know this is a newbie question, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to play this thing. I love Lusted's work in M2TW and want to try it here. I have RTW 1.5. I have installed TE5 and TE5.1. (Via the installers).

    Now...what?

I fire up Rome with the standard shortcut and I don't see anything different or any sign that the mod loaded. I have searched the forums and no advice.

    Quetions:

    1) Do I need to add a command line to the shortcut to fire it up? Or, better yet, HOW do I fire up this mod?

    2) What's the easiest way to tell - once I loaded the game - whether I'm playing the mod or not?

    Thanks,
    D

1)Normally, it should run when you execute the original "rometw.exe", if you had sucessfully install the mod to your data folder.

(Advice: Make sure the path to your total war data folder is correct, while you install the mod)

    2)The loading screen, I guess

Yes, first sign of a successful install will be Lusted's custom loading screens.

Best bet would be to check your directorys and see where everything has been placed.

And, as it seems its not in the right place, you will have to uninstall and reinstall.

Ok. I just uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Patched to 1.5.

I installed TE 5.0 in the /data folder (where it automatically points).

I did the same with TE 5.1.

I load the game and...still the vanialla version.

Is the data folder incorrect? Some mods, I noticed, need you to install to the main Total War folder.

I'm at a loss. Any help?

    Thanks,
    D

Can you tell me the pathway for your Vanilla install?

Hiya - Thanks for your help. Here's the path I installed TE 5.0 and TE 5.1 into:

    C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\data\

Then I threw that CE 2.0 update into the \Rome - Total War\ folder. (The CE patch info says specifically NOT to put that one in the \data folder.)

To start the whole above process, I had done a clean install of R:TW (without BI), then updated to 1.3, then to 1.5.

    Ideas?

    Thanks,
    D

Im looking at this (\Rome - Total War\)

why the hypen? Im thinking thats something you dont usually see. :hmmm:

    Also, you need

    1. patch 1.2
    2, patch 1.3
    3. patch 1.5

Unless you have the "gold" version of RTW, which comes preped to 1.5 out of the box.
