    Default The Legacy of Pergamum

Sorry it took so long to get this thing up, didn't have access to my game over the weekend.

The year is 280 BC, the Kingdom of Pergamum, under the brave leadership of Attalo the Kingdom has flourished. He has sensed the turbulent times ahead and has started to build up the economy and the military. Already forces have been stationed along the northern border in preparation to assault the Kingdom of Nicomedia. Alliances with Pontus, Macedonia, Bosphorus, and Epieros are being formed on the arrival of my diplomats trade rights exchanged and map information sold(extra profit ).

Well I hope you like it dvk it was made at your request.

It was a sad day in 277 BC when the great leader Attalos died from old age, a peaceful death well earned by his great life. Now his heir Chrysippos has taken the burden and honor of leading the people of Pergamum, he is already becoming a spectacular leader. Many cities have been taken already, 5 cities fell to him already alone 6 others have been taken as well. Macedonia is one city from death and I expect them to fall within the coming months, meaning war with the Greeks is not far off in their hunger for land a power. We have also received word a province of the Ptolemaic empire has rebelled and declared themselves apart of our empire. This news comes hard and sad as now the Ptolemaic empire is at war with us and refuses peace offers despite the fact we had nothing to do with the rebellion. At the time their navy is our only concern although preparation have been taken to insure our safety in case of a surprise army through Seleucid lands. Now we must pray to the gods and arm ourselves for destiny awaits us at the spears of our enemies.

More in 260 BC , make sure to give some reviews of my work so far(I'll start showing financial reports next time).

Dear lord those Greeks fight like devils my Leader can barely handle the stacks but their starting to weaken down now, though the blasted Getae betrayed me with a full stack and 1/2. My fight against Egypt is going terribly of course thats because I can only recruit my weakest units, things are getting rough.

i strongly advise you take up defensive positions and build up a money basis so you can get some power stacks out on the field. thats what i did whenever the germans tried to betray me. i set up large border garrisons and held them off while i set up my money base and am now stronger than all other factions combined. if you set yourself financially, you can train all the units you need.

Things are going well in Greece, the falling and will be dead within the next few years though I must say they've put up a great fight. Now trouble dwells in the East war with the Ptolemaic and Seleucid empires is a strain even on my economy. I've managed to expand by 2 cities against the Ptolemaics and in my blitz I managed to take 5 Seleucid cities(in 1 year). But now I've deadlocked with the Ptolemaics and I'm struggling to maintain my control of the area, to make matters worse the Carthaginians have sent two stacks to take Cyrene though the war hasn't officially started its about two and all I've got over there are Militia Hoplites. I recently lost a major battle to the Seleucids that crippled my advance(I lost 2 generals and most their armies) and I'm not have to rebuild while holding them at a bridge. It'll be 1 weak stack vs 2 1/2 strong stacks, to make matters worse my navy is losing and many of my ports are blockaded. After taking Greece all efforts will go into the Seleucids and Ptolemaic beasts and I will just hold up against Carthage for now. New armies are being assembled and great Generals are rising to command them... soon my advance a destruction will begin.

Pergamum is been delightfully challenging so far, although on a few occasions I've about ripped my hair out .

when i went head to head with the greeks, i was about to destroy the computer beause a convenient plague in their cities would always stall my advance making blitzkriegs impossible. also when i went up against pergamum, they had the whole penninsular and it took me forever to get a city to use as a base of operations. hope the seleucids and ptolemaics dont make it too troublesome for you. have fun.

You chosen probably the hardest little faction to play with, and I admire that. They are up against a lot of kick-ass out there!

I stopped the spread of the plaque by isolating during a siege not sure how but it stopped spreading. Once my war machine is back up they won't stand a chance, although so far none of my forces except my Faction Leader/ Best General has matched your Elite Corps and Scarface.

    Sorry about the double post.

Many fierce battles were fought and many generals have fallen, as many as 7 infact! But at last the Seleucids have broken the majority of their military defeat I am having little difficulty getting to their cities(the one in the picture is their most defended). Several years ago I defeated the Ptolemaics through a long hard struggle in which I lost 1 general. Since my war machine can't keep up with my advance I'm finding it a little bit difficult but nothing I can't handle. But with the occasional raids by the Getae and my growing fear of war with Bosphorus seems to get closer every day as I see their armies patrolling their newly taken lands of Pontus they have several nearby stacks and it worries me. Meanwhile the Carthaginians have but up a rather depressive offensive as I have crushed all their armies so far... with militia hoplites! After I finish the Seleucids I will move on to those pesky Carthaginians by moving in troops from Crete and they will fall, for no one has ever withstood my might(well for a very long time anyways).

From experience in greek battles and pike battles. Best to counter pike with pike. Skirshmers are assets agianst any armour or pike, units. Archers help out too. Cavalry will devaste them too, but depends what you want. cant wait for patch9a

I find Pergamum to be one of the best factions in the game. Remember, constantly build more and more phalanxes and then recruit mercenary elephants. In a big battle, they definitely show their worth.

Seeing as I got a little attention I guess I'll continue(I've been really distracted but I found some free time).

The Seleucids have crumbled I have their last city besieged and there outnumbered, out experienced, and have no reinforcements. Carthage has no large armies left to oppose me with but their navy is quite the pest and is keeping Syracuse landlocked(not that I think they have any money anyways). Armenia is defeating Partha little by little with my financial backing but other than them and the Germans no ones really expanding(although the Romans have finally gotten the upper hand in Gaul). My future plans consist of taking N. Africa starting a war with the Bosphorians with Getae and Armenian aid with that I should get the 11 settlements I need to complete the game.
