It's Portugal and Morocco called me in at the end against Ireland.
Morocco against Ireland isn't an all-day combination either though
Sicily 1108 Ironman, Medium difficulty:
The 2.0 patch really has changed balance. Portugal and Galicia were one kingdom split by gavelkind, and Castile-Leon got lucky with only one son who managed to switch to elective, but is in a small civil war right now. Also, the Seljuks have a huge 5 kingdom empire that is in a civil war now that Alp Arslan just died after getting made infirm in his late 70s. My son and heir also is duke of Pomerania, but I'll probably give that up to another de Hauteville after I inherit Sicily.
Rep me and I'll rep you back.

Those Mughals are SOOOO ugly.
Dat Jaunpur.
And I agree, Mughals are...so ugly. How did China get conquered by Manchus and how did they release that peasant rebel dynasty?

Ming totally broke up and Zhou, Shun rebelled while Manchus used the opportunity to attack them all. Shun got reduced to just 2 regions, but Chagatai decided to attack Qing and give all these regions back to Shun and make the border very ugly in the result.
Oh and also my Siam is Sunni.

It seems the games needs some balancing, after one expansion + a good mod, it could overshadow EU 3, I guess.
Indeed. But until that point, EU3 still is one ahead of EU4.
I guess that day will come when they allow people to change idea groups. I liked the previous system better, it gave a 'feel' and 'character' to my faction by having unique single ideas instead of a set group. And it was even more important to change it with time, for example exploration idea became useless by late game. Same goes for religious ideas once you had converted everyone you could.
Having permanently fixed ideas makes no sense at all.

That's very far from being true. That would be a bad thing and would ruin any significance and depth in choosing ideas, you have to think in the long run not short and ideas work differently here too. When you would select a new tree all your researched ones would disappear and break balance, it's not a single idea like in EUIII, but here are groups. And what makes you pick religious anyways? I converted all India to Sunni without even having them. And if you think religious is just far that, you are very wrong. They give -25 stab cost, there's no other thing that gives so much, +100 better relations by time, huge, very needed bonus for expansionist countries, when you are expansionist, you can't live without it. Free CB against other religions, +1 tolerance to your people, +2 to heretics. There isn't even a single idea there which isn't good, many are great. And not to mention, you get by time to time events, which give you +1 stab. That way you can easily even reach +3 from that. It's much easier to Westernise, because not even once when doing it I haven't had an event from religious group, which gives +1 stab. Colonialism gives higher income. +10% Overseas income and +20% Global tariffs, and very occasional events which gives -10% diplo tech cost.
And if you want them changed, request a mod or open up a save file and change your idea group there and there you go.
EUIV IMO is superior to EUIII.
Subjective. There was nothing wrong with the changing of ideas at the cost of stability, especially now that we have better stability system. They could've introduced a bigger penalty, instead of arbitrary permanent restrictions.
EU3 is still ahead in this respect.

If changing idea groups was allowed while losing all bought ideas, it would be waste of monarch points. If it was allowed while keeping bought advancements, then it would be a gamey exploit.
Sicily Ironman. I'm going for Prester John, but the Fatimids regained a lot of strength after slapping the Byzantines in Anatolia.

I was so excited about the Christians retaking much of Iberia so early, owning almost all of it by 1100. Then Portugal and Galicia decided to be stupid and wage Civil War during Arab invasions, and Castile-Leon switched back to Gavelkind somehow. The Muslims took back 2/3 of Iberia and have now lost a lot of it again in just a few years. I'm not even 80 years in and there's been two reconquistas and a deconquista. This is too much. The Spanish kings were worthless at holding onto their father's gains, and then the Moorish kings were worthless in holding their father's gains. The back and forth is kind of annoying.
