Hi all,
the realcombat mod seems to add some more historic accuracy. How does it play with TLR. Can i install it over TLR V1.9?
Any experiences?

You can't install the entire Real Combat mod.
However, you should be able to use the EDU (export_descr_units.txt) file without issue.
I haven't tried doing that myself quite yet. Also, a future version of 1.9 will have something similar to it.

thanks, what is the EDU containing roughly?
Unit statistics

I just double checked. You would also need to modify the
EDB (export_descr_buildings.txt) to include the changes from the
(export_descr_building_SMITHS.txt) file in the mod
"The first casualty when war comes, is truth." - Hiram JohnsonDeveloper of The Long Road Modification
and dont forget copy expanded file, without it, new armor upgrades wouldnt be named correctly..
Armor upgrade system in this mod is the best possible way.Hard to imagine something better, upgrades are worth to buy every +1 point to armor will make your unit to be more resistant. Gothic armor is almost unpenetrable with base weapons (need a arbalest or better arquebuse to kill ...) With 12 armor upgrade levels instead of vanila 6, there is a possiblity to include low tech version of armor for lesser units, so knight in Plate armor will have better quality armor than some soldier in lower cost base plate armor...

Torn, will the EDB and the expanded file for armour upgrades conflict with your mod? Basically are all three files ok? From what I gather, you need EDU, EDB and expanded file (which I'm not positive what it is, but I'll check it out).
The expanded file should be ok. So will the EDU.
The EDB has the be merged with the changes from Real Combat. You can't just drop the EDB in.

And what exactly does the EDB do? If the only changes I want are his unit stats including armour upgrades, do I need the EDB? I don't want new unit costs or anything, I want everything to remian TLR except battle. I'm still playin 1.8 btw, waiting for more updates and such before upgrading (plus I'm in the middle of a great campaign).
The EDB control buildings and the build tree. You need to merge the changes from his EDB_SMITHS file, otherwise you won't be able to upgrade your armor appropriately.

Hi, I'm playing TLR 1.9BETA with the RealCombat 1.1
In the tornnight's EDB file u must modify the Smith sections with a modded version that will convert it in a EDB_SMITHS-like file, in order to get the modified armor upgrade..
in the building smith sections:
- find any reference like:
armour x
- and change in:
armour x*2 -1
armour x*2
I attach the 1.9Beta export_descr_buildings.txt modded file i use![]()
Currently i'm having too much fun playing with TRL 1.9beta+RealCombat1.1+Skymod_blood mod-by Horsearcher+Ultimate AI 1.3(Diplo AI only)+Darth Formations M2TW Version 4.0+ Burrek's texture
(Sorry 4 my bad english! i'm from Italy)
