    Default Monitor noob questions

I'm thinking about buying this monitor: http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...41696&pfp=feb4

My question is if my computer has any hope of running M2TW at mostly medium settings with huge unit size. I run at 1024x768 with shadows and 1280x1024 without.

    Specs: P4 3.0 ht
    7800gs 256
    1 gb ram
    p4p800 asus board.

The default setting on the monitor is 1650x1050. Looks high!

What is the resolution scalabilty on these LCD's?
Does it still look crisp at lower res?
Does is get damaged at anything other than default res?
Help me, I'm clueless about monitors!!

your gpu is good but im not sure about that proc, you should be able to run @large / normal unit size with highish settings cos your CPU sucks a bit

You don't necessarily have to play on the native resolution - you'll surely lose sharpness as soon as it has to interpolate, but otoh, this lack of sharpness isn't that bad since it partially eliminates pixel scales (kind of anti-alias for the poor ). Prior to my upgrade, I ran MTW2 on a lower res (1600*900) than my screens (1920*1200) and it was bearable...

It isn't ideal, but the display wont be damaged by it and I guess you'll have it for longer than your CPU, so you'll get the full advantage after upgrading that (which I deem necessary sooner or later).
