One of the greatest features of the RTW engine, in my opinion, is the way it translates the strategic map into the battlefields. Not only the immediate terrain of the battlefield, but also all the surrounding lands. This is a feature the M2TW engine sadly lacks (you won´t see the sea evenif you fight on a coastal tile).
However, I´ve collected some examples of what the Rome engine made of Middle Earth. Enjoy!
A picture from my Harad campaign in the Corsair Invasion release, this battle took place at the summit of the Morgul pass, providing a good outlook to the plain of Gorgoroth and Mount Doom.
Another picture from the Harad campaign, taken from Enym Arnen, looking towards the Morgul Pass.
One of my favourites, the view from Enym Arnen towards Minas Tirith.
Another great one, this battle took place on the road immediately north on Helms Deep. The view goes directly north towards Nan Curunir, and in the distance the Tower of Orthanc is faintly visible!
Edoras, seen from the mountains near Underharrow.
During the battle for Ost-in-Andrast the Dunedain fleet is visible off the Cape of Andrast.
Well, that´s it for now.
