Question for the experts!

Well after installing Roma Seccurtam or something like that, i found that it has BEAUTIFUL city and agent textures on the campaign map, but for the life of me i cannot find which files govern these things so i can use them with XGM!

Any and all help would be appreciated.

data/models_strat contains all the character/item models of the campaign map
data/models_strat/residences/ contains all the buildings for the campaign map

The file with all the links/directories is at data/descr_sm_settlements.txt

The rest you have to figure out yourself... It's not like I took a tutorial to learn this, it's all best to be self-taught, no need to post topics asking for this if you can look at the data folder and make logical conclusions yourself...

I tried looking, but rather then screw things up i came to ask u guys. I spent most of my Tuesday "attempting" to mod the game, after that i thought i would get some help.

Well i was able to replace the city textures and they look amazing, unfortunately i am unable to change the textures for the characters or the ships on the strat map, i have copied the entire models_strat folder into my vanilla directory, this gives me the new cities, but not the new characters or navies.

Any help? sorry i ask these novice questions, but i would greatly appreciate your help gentlemen.

If you tried to look up model names (e.g. Riczu_CB_carthagian_ship) in *.txt files you would find them in descr_model_strat.txt

What i don't understand is that fact that i get the cities but not the models! they should have the same name, so all i would have to do is overwrite it like the cities, but it does not want to work.

found the problem, apparently the new models have different names, i am currently renaming them, thx for the replies!

Turns out iamphet was right

it had some big problems when just copying the Descr models file, i will have to edit it.

Although this may make me a post whore, i have success! after about 4 hours, i have success! i shall post screenshots soon.

btw, does anyone know how to increase the sizes of the models on the strat map?

aaah... riczu's outstanding campaign map models. if only dbh could get riczu's permission to include these in xgm what a treat we would have

These screens don't even give the models justice, they look even better while playing.

Nvm, I found the mod already, going to ask permission and then include them in the mod if riczu allows us to.

They looks quite awesome.

They really do, but the models should be increased, i will try that now, otherwise, they don't look too good.

in size, the details on the characters are excellent, however, since they are so small, they are unrecognizable, i have increased all ships to 1.5 scale, and they look much better. This would be an EXCELLENT addition to XGM.

GOD DAMMIT this thing is a pain to get running, the textures looked bad on the Greek soldier armies, so i tried to use the CAS files from the mod... CTD... so i am reverting to the iffy working version i had, until someone can find a way to integrate this into XGM well... I obviously cannot.
