Looking forward to seeing some of these once you've got past the Marian reforms. Doesn't look like it's going to be too easy for Rome, looking at the other AARs and AI campaign.
I control all of Italy including Genua, Mediolandum and Patavium.
I haven't even tried to attack Sicily yet, since I want full control of Greece and the destruction of the Dacians (whom I haven't started a battle with yet) before I do any kind of invasion.
I recently captured Pergamum, but Pergamum besieged a turn after I started to control it. I am currently about to attack an army of Pergamum with the army in the army slot.
I have set forts all around the outside of Roman control to keep the Gauls at bay. Even if they're my allies, I still can't trust the barbarian cur.
Damn, look at the Seleucids go! We really need to get Baktria in there to keep some pressure on them... the Nabateans would also have an impact...
Nope, no mistakes! I use the archers in front (when I have onagers) to pepper the enemy with arrows while my onagers, since there's 8 of them, rain rocks upon them from afar. And, if they come too close, my legions throw their pila, which usually causes the main line to rout, giving me time to get my 2 generals behind the second line to smack into them.
And, since I have so many legions, I can work the second line (I have two lines of legions, 6 in the first and 6 in the back) around the main line also if my generals are caught up in some fighting with other cav. It may look like a bad setup, but it does wonders for me, especially on bridge battles.
Of course! I have to fight most of my battles now, and even on medium it still takes quite a while to take a settlement, what with all the full stacks coming my way and whatnot.Socrates, are you getting enough of a challenge?

Oh, since, because they have an extra experience point, they have a greater defense and attack than the regulars.
With this style of gameplay itīs no wonder he is that far.
I intend to play as historical as possible.
- 1 First cohort + normal cohorts in one legion (+ support troops)
- Every legion is only recruited once
- if a single cohorts needs to be refitted it travels the whole way back ( no replacement cohorts)
- siege equipment is only in use for actual sieges not field battles
- Not more than 2 cav units (+ generals unit) per legion to reflect the historical situation
Kinda lame to see him playing the MOD this way since this MOD for the first time offers the opportuniy to play historical.![]()

Um, yeah, I'm over here. You can say "you" instead of "him."
I play it the way I want to play it, and, since I'm enjoying it, I going to stick to the way I am currently playing the game. I don't care if I not doing it "historically," I'm having a fun time playing it and that's what a mod is supposed to be: fun.
Yes, being historical is an important matter in this mod, but come on.

dvk, do you have a set of house rules you play by for Rome? Or WOULD play by, if you ever got the chance to play!
My personal oppinion: It is lame .............. Ok?
Blame me for living in a non english speaking country.
btw.,
did i said something like "Itīs totally wrong how you play the game and you are not allowed to play it this way?", guess not.
No, you did not say "it's totally wrong" you said "how could you play it that way", and that's what I found to be annoying. You see, I know it's your opinion, but you make it out to say that your way is the only logical way to play. You also seemed to take it as an insult that I play with multiples of my legions in the game.
and what's with that "blame me for not living in an English country" nonsense? There's tons of people here that do not have English as their first language, yet they do just fine here. So, playing that card really doesn't do too much.
Ok guys relax take a deep breath and play RS in your respective ways disputes like this generally only get worse. Lets see some more pictures if you wouldn't mind Socrates.
Erdbeerchen, please do us a favor and keep negative comments to yourself.
Sacrates, excellent campaign. i personally prefer to start in isolation with Syracuse but rome is my second choice. good lick with your Pergamum and Dacian problems. dont forget to stop by my AAR every once in a while to give me some input. i am mor of an economically based player and am not good with the battles so i give those problems to my generals. pointers in that area would be very welcome. again good luck and rock-on with the successful legion style. just check my expansion for how things should have gone in history.
