Account Problems

I recently brought my dad's computer over to a friend's house for a LAN party with his permission as always, but this time I think something screwed up because when I brought it back and he tried to go on it, it now shows him as a limited user instead of the administrator and he cant change back. He tried going to User Accounts under control panel to try to change it, but nothing there allowed him to do that. Would anyone know how to fix this problem or what to do? I dont think a new password was made, I just think his account was set to limited user. It uses XP by the way.

I bet you think I’m mad but a couple of years ago there was thread on Julius Creaser in VV forum and it was something you posted which really stuck in my mind.

Anyway back to your problems, does your Dad have any restore points you could use to set Windows back to an earlier point, kind of works like the time machine your so fond of. However it should be impossible to set the single user to a limited account you have on XP to limited user, there needs to be at least one administrator account for you to access windows and setup other users.

Boot in safe mode

At the login screen an administrator account should be made automatically. You can then proceed to fix the problem via the normal way of setting privalges.
