Yes I am speaking of o-zone.

My question is to the Euros: "Are there any other bands this good over there?"

Plenty. And better. They just represent music which is not american mainstream.

In Europe heavy is getting bigger by day.

Are you into Metal? If you are, Europe is way ahead of America.

While American Death Metal bands are good, Europe's far ahead in Black, Power, Heavy, Melodic-Death and Viking/Folk Metal. But to be fair to the Americans, 2006 saw some good American bands in the spot-light.

Tiwaz, I agree with you, although those bands you mentioned are the more "popular" bands and N'Flamez sounds like just another American band these days.

Anyway, here are some bands you might wanna check out, apart from the one's mentioned by Tiwaz (I'm assuming you're not into Metal):

    Hammerfall
    Iron Saviour
    Gamma Ray
    Sodom
    Destruction
    Suidakra
    Dark Tranquillity
    Runic
    Lumsk
    Falkenbach
    Bal-Sagoth
    I
    Primal Fear
    Pagan's Mind

And there are plenty more .... Depends on what kinda Metal you're into.
Ever since the days of Thrash and early Death Metal, the American Metal scene has been on a downward slope with -core bands emerging from all over the place claiming they're Metal.

Let's start with more known stuff... (at least to me) and some of my favourites to spice it up

Rammstein,Within Temptation, HIM, Nightwish (remains to see how new singer works though), Sonata Arctica, Therion, Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir (not exactly my liking but still...), Tristania, Entwine, Blind Guardian, Eternal Tears Of Sorrow, In Flames

Tiwaz, while I agree with your list and with your quest to enlighten one about real music, I truly doubt it that someone who can listen to O-zone and like them can be redeeemed...

You never know... After all, everyone must see enlightenment at some point. Though I have great doubt over finding much records of mentioned bands in USA.

Besides, someone besides him might find something new and amusing in it.

We do make a lot. It just rarely goes to states as people there cannot appriciate finer things.

But generally, no. In metal circles USA does not see that much success.
I think somewhat heavyish and well known modern group might be Evanescense.

no self respecting rock fan would ever call evanescence "heavyish" no matter how much they want to be.

Who here would not get kicks out of a officer running up to a criminal and telling them "break the law on my watch eh?" and then if the criminal starts to run he must first say "then pay with your blood" before chasing him with several other officers

Well, if you insist on going to the "less popular" and less known way I can add few.

    Ensiferum
    Insomnium
    Machine Men
    Hevein
Ruoska (only finns will get this though )
    Finntroll
    Sentenced (gone by now though)
    Amorphis
Stam1na (lady likes it, me not so much)
Poison Black (project of one of the Sentenced guys)
    Silentium
    Diablo
    Rapture

Our eurovision candidate list also has one metal band, Thunderstone. Though I doubt they will be able to pull Lordi and pass.
