    Default assasinating faction members

i was assasinating all the family members of portugal(i was spain).. but after i killed off the last faction leader, 3 more people spawned the following turn.

i tried killing them off all over again and new members keep spawning after i kill the last remaining one. i tried this for four times last night (meaning i killed off 4 complete sets of portugese families but another set spawned the very next turn) until i gave up and played EU3. hehehehe.

does DLV prevent me from destroying a faction by assasination?:hmmm:

No, i destroyed the russians that way. Wasnt even intentional, just had the chance to wack the prince and king easily and took it- Next thing i know at the biggining of the next turn i get the message the faction has been wiped and all former provinces go rebel.

yeah i know that happens. i do that in LTC and vanilla. but last night was the 1st night i was trying to do it in DLv and that stuff i described happens.. 4 times. so i got worried that DLV somehow prevents faction assasination..

ok so the 4 sets of family members that re-appeared in the only 2 provinces the portugal owns after i killed every member of the previous set is just coincidence? hmmmm .. vewy vewy cuwious..

When you get a very effective assassin, it does seem too easy to kill the critical members of a faction. I think assassins vs. family members need to be toned down, while vs. merchants, priests, spies, other assassins, should be increased.

Just to provide more data: I have an assassin with +5 skill and I'm getting a 95% chance to kill foreign family members, but at like 15% for merchants. I cannot help but believe that merchants should be an easier kill -- yes, the family members might have a negative modifier on personal safety, but even then, they would be much harder to get to.

    Thanks Repman.

im not sure if it has something to do with this or not, but my max skilled english assassin, had a 95 percent chance to kill merchants and imams at their castle / city, but out in the open the chance was extremely less, about 50-60 percent less. /shrug:hmmm: wonder why it would be easier to whack someone inside their home?
