I think that the US should realize they are ever increasing their chance of having a civil war, and accept that parties come to power and then the other party returns and it's not the end of the world.
Trump was already looking set to win, but with this moment (and also importantly how he came out of it, with fist in the air etc, ie at least "brave") it looks absolutely certain he will return to power.

And this is what happens when TDS rots your brain. This is not fake outrage I am displaying, this is real outrage. Unlike you and yours I haven't spent the last 8 years calling Trump Hitler only to turn around now. I have always stood somewhere in the middle and I have as such earnt the right to condemn political violence like this. Whatever I may think about Trump politically and I disagree with him on a great deal of topics, the man was just shot at and responded with defiance, courage and temerity. That, in my book, is admirable. His reaction gave me Teddy Roosevelt vibes and I'm sure any person that isn't completely lost to TDS would think similarly.

The gunman who fired shots at former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Saturday night has been identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.

He was killed by a Secret Service sniper at the rally, officials said.

A young untrained attacker manages to get on top of one of the only vantage points, with Secret Service snipers observing his direction, stays on the roof for minutes with bystanders warning the authorities, manages to fire his gun and gets shot dead right away. It's more like you're the one lying since FBI investigation likely haven't been concluded. Do we have the following answers?

Why did the Secret Service not cover the rooftop, being one of the only vantage points over Trump's stage?
Why did the security personnel on the ground ignored bystanders' warning that a man with a rifle was crawling on the rooftop?
Why were the Secret Service snipers did not act before shots were fired meanwhile observing the direction of the location of the attacker?
Why was Trump kept on stage for over a minute and not taken to cover even though the Secret Service agents were aware of the direction of the shooting?

The investigation will likely try to answer these questions.

It’s too early to speculate on the shooter’s exact motives beyond an obvious hatred of Trump and desire to kill him. His Republican voter registration will be reiterated ad nauseam by the press and liberal establishment, and the right will point to his left wing political donations and statements. It’s a pointless exercise imo, but we can probably conclude Biden would not have had the presence of mind to facilitate this iconic shot:

To be sure, many might wish the would-be assassin had aimed a little lower. But politically, I think this is one of the worst things that could have happened for the Democrats, aside from Biden stepping down/dying in office. Not only are there countless soundbites from left wing politicians using violent rhetoric referring to Trump, but it looks like the shooter was politically motivated. If Biden was struggling to look strong and competent compared to Trump before now, I don’t know how he’s going to manage with the clip of his “defeat Medicare” word salad alongside that of Trump’s defiant and bloodied face reassuring the cheering crowd.
