Please help me change\edit the look of the minimap

Hi all!

Hopefully, my question is pretty straightforward: I'm wonering on how to change the look of the image on the minimap (in campaign mode). So, to give you an idea, I've uploaded several images:

This is how the vanilla minimap looks like:

This is how the minimap looks like when I install Taranis: Epic Interface mod from Steam

And this is how it looks like when I install some other overhaul mod



So, the question is: how to effectively swap these manually? Suppose, I'm playing an overhaul mod which changes the look of the minimap, but I want it to look like vanilla while still playing this mod. What should I do? What's the name of the file responsible for this and where is it located..?

Hey Overlord, you wanna play the mod with the vanilla version, right? If so you will have to open the mod's PACK file and search for the entry campaign_maps, main_emperor, and delete all those related files there:

main_emperor_lookup_minimap.tga
main_emperor_map_minimap.png

main_rome_lookup.tga
main_rome_lookup_minimap.tga
main_rome_map.png
main_rome_map_minimap.png
main_rome_map_minimap.tga

I think this is all you need to do...but please backup the pack file first

Actually, what I want is to use the map skin from the Taranis: Epic Interface mod (pic. 2) with the overhaul mod I'm currently playing (pic. 3).
The thing is, the Taranis mod changes pretty much every single UI element, which I don't really like, except for the minimap look. So, how do I do that? I'm aware that mods are stored in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content folder. I have the PFM installed. Could you please describe the procedure to achieve my goal? Is that actually possible?

Hmm I think it is, you could extract the Taranis map skin entries/files from campaign_maps > main_emperor to a new, "independent", .pack file to use it with any mod you want, as long as you keep said .pack file above other mods in the modlist...or you could delete everything else from the Taranis mod except the UI map files I mentioned and give the pack file another name so it won't automatically update from Steam.

I did this to make my own edit of the Latin-style map mod from the Steam Workshop, so it works
