For those of you having problems running Medieval 2 on a Vista machine, try one of the following solutions:

    1) Locate the shortcut you use to run Medieval 2 (or the mod you use). Right-click on it and go to Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab. At the top you will see the "Compatibility mode" section. Tick the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" from the drop down and then click Apply.

    2) Or try the Digital River Patched .EXE (not a crack):

Hopefully this will help those of you having issues running M2 playing again until a patch is available from CA. If this helps everyone running M2 on a Vista machine, admins feel free to sticky this post.

Is there a problem with the unpacker on vista systems? Mine keeps cutting out halfway through without unpacking any of the files, and dont even ask me if i've got it in the right place!
