Any good, reliable external hardrives?

This may sound like a dumb question, but that is beside the point. For those of you who have an external or know someone, I was wondering if there is any particular brand or model that is better than others. Thats it, fairly straightforward I guess. Thanks for any advice.

oh yeah, obviously I know nothing about this sort of thing, but I do know I have the USB 2.0 or whatever. thanks again.

I didn't test too many, but both my maxtor onetouch drives never had any problems - (both are 300gb maxtor onetouch I - don't remember how old they are, but I'd guess 2-3 years). I got another 300 gig external maxtor drive about half a year ago and don't have any problem with that.
My external 300 gb Trekstor however has problems with an overheating powersupply and a friend of mine had the same problem with the same drive - guess that's hardly representative, but since I've never had problems with any of them, I'd stay with Maxtor...

i got a maxtor 3200 and its great holds 320gb and its pretty quick
