I am sure we had some anime thread in the past, of course if a mod can find it and link this message to it, it'd be great ^^
Currently watching High Rise Invasion:
It's ok. This is a teen show, a bit sexualized (but nothing much), with a plot that is just Battle Royale in a world of high-rise buildings and some of the people there controlled by masks.
It's mildly entertaining, but don't expect any deeper theme or intellectual traits.

Re High-rise Invasion, I am at ep8 and likely will just give up, since it is becoming more and more braindead.
By the way, anyone know of decent mystery/thriller anime from 2020-now?

This is a peculiar one, the mix of humor and brutality is at times perfectly balanced. Currently on season 2 and watching it when I have some free time at night
Never understood the mass appeal of these cartoons. The only Japanese cartoons that I enjoyed were some 1980s series that I watched while growing up in the early 90s (robot manga or whatever), and Dragon Ball Z at 14.
There's some good scripting around, to be honest. Sure some of them are clones, some other are similar and yet different (i.e. I loved Bleach but couldn't stand Naruto), some are absolute epic pieces (such as Berserk), some other have literally changed the world of entertainment (such as Akira). Anime are as a matter of fact a different form of media, so there's a whole world to explore: you can really find ANY kind of content. IMO, the term Anime is nowadays too small to contain what this reality has become.
I am rewatching The Perfect Insider.
It is a bit more intellectual, but rather convoluted. Has mystery/detective elements too (locked room etc).

This one of those I always postponed for one reason or another, just started it this weekend. Typical anime from the 2010's, humor and brutality are well mixed, the plot is engaging without being convoluted, good character progression.
I'm expecting some glorious fights before the end and ATL a couple more plot twists
^I've watched almost all of it, but like a decade ago
Imo it's dated and some bits are rather blunt (while overall the story is unrealistic). But it can suck you in.

Bleach is quite a huge marathon, even if you cut off the fillers. I've been re-watching it, on and off, with my daughter up until end of season 2.. now I'm waiting for the last part of the anime to come out (the Thousands year Blood War) and I'll probably re-watch season 16 before of watching that last part.
Finished Full Metal Alchemist.. felt kinda meh, I think they somewhat rushed the ending, but definitely worth watching it.
Next one, Inuyasha.
This' another one I postponed for so long... into season 1, honestly I was expecting more from the fights; plot wise and, more important, characters wise, is an excellent anime.
Useless japanese (german) navy can't even stop exposed flesh
Unfortunately Attack on Titan has both interesting and downright insultingly stupid elements. The story itself - let alone the dialogue...- is typically of the latter kind, but hey, it also includes massive titans besieging walled humanity ^^

Imo it would have been better if the titans weren't what they are in the show. Because there they literally

are just humans who have a special ability.
So not much different from having two warring african countries being given a few tanks (=>titans) by a modern power.
