Marshal Ney's alleged faked death about to get sorted out
The mystery surrounding the alleged faked execution of Marshal Ney is about to get unravelled after 200 years. Peter Stewart Ney's grave has been officially open up for the third time last year, this time in the age of DNA profiling. Peter Stewart Ney was a strange fellow who ended up on the American shores several years after Ney's untimely demise in 1815.

Quite a collection of Frenchmen in the US, what with visits from Talleyrand, Tocqueville and La Fayette as well as the supposedly dead Ney and Louis XVII.
It does seem unlikely Ney survived.

I had prepared this joke, that I like to imagine all the people in this thread wearing headphones and listening to La Victoire est à Nous 24/7.

Not in reference to Ney. He caused more defeats for the French army than any of the Coalition generals.
