Took out the germanic in the effect bundle key, nothin changed unfortunately.

Thank you very much for your patience with me, I've tried to reverse-engineer multiple mods and just not having any luck. Just let me know if you find out what it could be tomorrow!

    Perhaps i found the problem:

After looking in my mod, which uses the effects, effect_bundles and descriptions of the defunct AFP mod i stumbled in the effect_bundles_table about this:

So i searched in my mod for the png and i found it:

So you must change in your effect_bundles_table in "ui_icon" the entry from "trait_suebi.png" to "trait_cherusci.png".

You can use the cherusci flag from data_rome2.pack/ui/flags/cherusci/mon_24.png and rename it to trait_cherusci.png.

If you do this your mod is build up like mine and it should work.

If not, then i run out of ideas.

Okay so I believe all my tables are correct but still ain't getting anything. I saw in the Para Bellum mod (which uses AFP) that there isn't a flag renamed for cherusci, it remains as mon_24.png. The same goes for the Etruria faction mod. Maybe there is a UI icon elsewhere that needs changed?

What's weird is I restarted the startpos process (just to get a fresh start) and after unlocking the cherusci faction it no longer has a "Rebels" faction trait it's now the SPQR (Rome) faction trait. So I'm even more confused now.

I've figured out how to do virtually everything else when it comes to modding the game, the effects are the only thing giving me trouble. This isn't something I could just borrow from another mod or something is it?

I'm sorry to hear that, but i guess its a issue with your startpos.esf.

Personally i have unlocked the faction with the table launcher in the AK. I prefer this method.

Another possibility is, that you are using a conflicting mod, who is altering the effects for cherusci.

Yes, you can use the effect_tables of another unlocking mod, as long as you ask and give credit. If you want to release your mod at some time for the public.

The strange thing is when I import all the effects tables, UI tables, and local files in from another mod to see if the effects will work with mine it doesn't work still. And I'm not using any other mods with mine so it can't be a conflicting issue. So logically, this has to be a startpos.esf issue maybe?

And I use your method with the table launcher in AK. I just never thought the effects would give me such trouble - it does involve a lot of files but if it's all in PFM it's usually not an issue for me.

Who knows. Maybe modding Rome 2 isn't for me lol

Must be something with your startpod.esf.

On the positive side you get more insight, how the tables work together.

So the issue was all I had to do was change the effects_bundle inside the political_parties in PFM to whatever I called it in the actual effects_bundle_table (in case you were curious lol) so it really IS as easy as you said it was but I was just missing one piece is all.

Btw if you're on discord you can add me if you want, just created an account. It's Pontifexum#3147 if you decide to! Cannot understate how much of a help you've been (and others in the community)
