An Story and history-report with The Long Road.
It was in the year 1080 when Emperor Heinrich ruled Germany. It was the early, dark age. Sitting in his Residence in Bologna Heinrich made the decision to prepare for an war. Not some little nation versus nation war. He wanted to make Germany the greatest Nation on the world. And so he started his preparations. Till 1095 he was taking the Rebel City´s Antwerp, Hamburg and Metz. The Rebels were fighting hard but the trained sergeants of Germany finally won. Heinrich was sending Diplomats out to all corners of the world, and soon he was trading with all kinds of civilisations, from the tricky Venice traders to the far east of Russia. The English Kingdom became Germany´s most trusted and important ally. At 1101 Heinrich died, but he died happy seeing that Germany was on the best way to grow to one of the most important nation´s in the world.
Heinrichs son Henry became the new Emperor. Henry knew from his fathers plan and improved Germany´s wealth even more. Germany became one of the most trusted nation´s in the world. Henry died at 1119, and Edmund son of Henry became Emperor. But there was hate in the royal family, Taurus, Heinrichs third son wanted the crown.
Annoyed by all this family problems Edmund happily joined the Crusade at 1120 to Antioch. He took the city Attalia and Aleppo on the way and finally arrived at Antioch. The battle was bloody and was about 2 hours long. The Muslims fought with great motivation because they knew the crusaders would show no mercy. With high losses Edmund attacked one last time, storming up the siege ladders. A group of 38 Crusader Knights managed to open the gate so the rest of the army could storm the city. Fully in Rage, Edmund was riding into the masses of muslims, who saw their dead coming when staring into Edmund´s eyes. Edmund slaughtered every single one of the Muslims in his rage, supported by his loyal Crusader Knights. Finally, after 20 minutes of street battle Edmund managed to take the city, but badly wounded. With losses of over 600 men it was a bloody battle but the crusade was an sucess.
Emperor Edmund hunting down the last Muslims
So the first outpost in the far east was taken, Germany´s door to the Eastern world was open. Edmund, though badly wounded took the city of Tyrus, and died from his injuries in 1122. Taurus finally became Emperor. Things back in Germany got better, but France was a dangerous nation, they were banned by the pope for attacking Milan, and now banned from the church nothing was in the way to attack other christian nations. They started to assault every Catholic Nation at their borders, including Germany and England. This was the first time England and Germany fought in battle side-by-side, like brothers.
Germany and England together in battle
Together they were able to strike back the france armies to their towns and castles. Taurus used the chance of the situation, and took Paris in a hard battle with the Francaise Elite, and received no blame from the Pope. France weakened, the door to the riches of the far east open, everything seemed fine for Germany...
