    Icon5 Recruiment Deutoroi Phalangists

    I have a question about some recruitments, in particular why can Deutoroi phalangites be recruited all over Greece except in Aetolia?
    Or only in Elymia and not in the rest of Magna Graecia? I can even recruit them in Africa!

    I can understand excluding Magna Graecia because historically it did not provide this type of unit, the islands of Crete and Rhodes or Greek Illyria, but I would like to understand the motivation in removing only Aetolia.
    Can anyone clarify for me the motivation for this choice?

    The Aitolians never adopted the pike (while everyone else in Greece went back and forth between pike and spear), the exception is deliberate.

    The recruitment viewer shows all sources of recruitment undifferentiated. The ones in Elymia and Africa come from specific buildings.
