Greetings, citizens. I'm holding a
Jadli for Novus
"Awarded for exceptional contributions to the site in the capacity of a staff member."
, and I'm trying to throw it on Jadli's profile. I'll need a bit of help.
Now just to be clear, there was a fair bit of controversy a few years ago in the hotseating section (a 'civil war' so to speak) in which all parties weren't at their best. That said, inquiring for messages from his fellow Hotseat Staff the two replies I did receive were in support, one noting Jadli's "crucial" role in the development of the section.
As for how I know about him, well, he is basically the reason I entered the site in the first place. Before you oppose, he's done that with a lot of people. The majority of new blood in the hotseating section is probably straight from him. He's one of the best people Staff has had in recent years getting people involved and interested in a part of TWC, even if that part is a little obscure to the Curia and other sections. He did this in his original stint, in the time he was out of Staff and again while he was Staff to now. Beyond recruitment he is responsible for the development and oversight of many hotseat campaigns. He has even worked on mods dedicated to Hotseat usability, most famously with the Elder Scrolls setting. He probably deserves a modding award just for his Elder Scrolls work, but we'll get back to that later. He has been instrumental in shaping Hotseating as it is today, which is one of the healthier sections TWC retains.
In my experience as well, hotseating has become a 'young man's game', by which I mean most of its community is now on Discord servers under various personality brands and a hip new hub to bring them together. I haven't seen anyone else from that neck of the woods fight specifically to keep TWC relevant in any domain as he has. The section may have simply died out if he didn't fight to bring traffic here.
For these reasons based on my experience which I hope will be corroborated shortly by members of his team and others involved in the section, I think he merits the award.
