Ran the game (with the patch installed) a few weeks ago and have been happily playing it for hours every day. No problems whatsoever until last Monday when the program just hanged after a battle (in battle map). Had to switch off the computer to get out of the program.
After this, have been unable to play the game at all. Apparently the shortcut on the desktop no longer works. Tried to uninstall the game (using the uninstall program and several utility programs), but the computer disallows me to do this saying that there is an I/O device problem (think this is more likely a problem with the game rather than a true I/O problem). Tried to do an installation from the disk, but the game disallows me saying that the game has already been installed. Obviously I tried to delete the files manually next. However on opening the SEGA folder, found only the Medieval Total War 2 folder but have been unable to open this. The program just hangs whenever I attempt this. So I am left unable to play the game at all, along with a chunk of real estate on the hard disk that I am unable to access.
The funny thing is that all my other games and programs appear to be working fine with no I/O errors.
Will appreciate any suggestions short of reformatting my entire hard disk.
Thanks in advance.
(My computer's a Dell Dimension 8300 with an nVidia 6800 card)
