Notice: the purpose of this amendment is to make in clearer, in the Constitution, where personal reference are to be considered on topic within the Curia and Prothalamos. It does not change in any way the mechanics, nor changes the role or duties of the Consul.

Actual wording

7 Due to the nature of the Curia and its related fora, The Consul recognizes that off topic and personal references are allowed, within reason.

New wording

Personal references are permitted in, and with respect to the subjects of, threads explicitly dedicated to the discussion of Citizenship Applications, Awards proposals, Curial Office Elections, Ostraka and VoNCs.

It’s not perfect but it’s better than the current moderation system which seems too superfluous and open to interpretation/abuse by moderation

The original text is much clearer than the proposed text and all this does is needlessly constrict discussion while failing to address the supposed problem, which has occurred precisely in the places the amendment allows personal references.

Intent aside the wording of this proposal is pretty damn abysmal, I agree with Adrian on that.

As I said the purpose is just to make that clearer, so any alternative is valid to me.

Support, a global 'within reason' for the whole curia is about as ambiguous as it gets when it comes to using personal references. Restricting it's use to curia affairs where it is actually necessary is welcome.
