Default Does DLV stuff up unit cohesion?

I've played both Vanilla and Light mod and never experienced this. Units don't move in cohesion, basically half the units run while a few decide to walk, effectively breaking up the unit in two. This renders some units such as Hvy Cav ineffective when chasing down routing units, or units moving away from them (I know this happens in vanilla as well, but it seems to occur alot more frequently with DLV).

Currently I've got both MTW2 Light Mod, and DLV installed...perhaps this has something to do with it?

Yeah, I have noticed that too. But since I did not played vanila with latest patch I thought it has something to do with it. Thing that annoys me is when infantry attacks...only first raw is actualy engaged and rest of them are just standing .

We're using Darth's OS 9 for the Battle Mechanics...so I'd have to say DLV doesn't uniquely stuff up unit cohesion. We're upgrading to OS 12 on DLV 2.0, so hopefully all the Battle AI issues improve. Cheers! dd

Thanks for the reply DD, btw excellent mod, it has pretty much everything I wanted for vanilla MTW2, but wasn't included.

I manually modded the latest Darthmod open source battle mechanics into DLV and it looks pretty good so far. The new siege fix definitely needs some tweaking, but at least ladders are no longer completely useless, on the contrary even.

Armies will lose cohesion when engaging enemy armies, but medieval combat was chaotic and part of the skill is now to manage the chaos by giving more movement commands before it gets out of hand.
Note that the charge problem is a bug that is probably unfixable for modders. This bug being only the front line charging and the rest keeping their distance.

As Zapppa said, you can always mod in the latest opensource (only the battle ai files ) from darth mod section to test it:

    AI battles files as:

    battle_config.xml
    config_ai_battle.xml
    descr_formations_ai.txt
    descr_mount.txt
    descr_pathfinding.txt

    repman

    BareBonesWars 8.1 for RTW 1.5
Integration Mod which combines unique strategic challenges due to a 4 Season scripted campaign from 280 BC - 180 AD on several big/small maps and with an ruthless AI on the battlefield.
Deus lo Vult DLV 6.2 for MTW II Kingdoms
Norway+Ireland+Flanders+Kiev+Lithuania+Teutonic_Order+Armenia+Crusader+Georgia,1y2t script, army field costs, Ultimate AI 1.6, big map, military career, economic system, age simulation, heraldic system, new factions, garrison script, Crowns + Swords, Trait bugfixer, religion dependent recruiting, ancillary enhancements, darth battle mechanics
