The BinEditor is a graphical interface to work with data/text files in Medieval 2 Total War (though it can be used for Rome Total War as well). It was originally designed for use with the Geomod Tool. The download link includes an instructional PDF on its wide suite of features.
To be done:
Signature Graphics need to be redone to fit one of two possible restructurings of the GIGDEX.
2 Drafts need to be presented to Gigantus: Draft One to be done, the Gigantus Draft:
-
Relevent Discussion from Discord with the GIG.
Some of my 'Gig studio' tags have 'Gig's stuff' as well (which I should have sorted out, I guess). The studio one is supposed to be only for my mods and mod repacks, whereas stuff is the collection of my things that are neither guides\tutorials nor mods\repack. Is that what is the issue?
Narf — Today at 3:11 AM Something like that, Commodus and I came up with solution I wanted both of us to present to you, if accepted, it'd be the last thing before the last leg of the journey
Fritz vom Wald — Today at 3:13 AM Proceed as follows: put all the mods\repacks into 'studio' and remove the 'stuff' tags if they have it. put all the guides\tutorials into 'world' (or whatever it was you using) and remove any 'stuff' tag as well What's left will be pure 'stuff' Like 'how do I kill him'
Narf — Today at 3:15 AM Uhh, sure, maybe I can do that, you don't want to see what we came up with before cementing it?
Fritz vom Wald — Today at 3:16 AM I am guessing you have more sub divisions, like for the guides?
Draft Two we had the issue of some categories becoming quite bare, and one of the nine subdivisions only had to entries, the restructure we caame up with was as follows: Gig Studios would be restructured into:
Gig Studios:
-Installers
-projects (from gig)
-tools
thats it for gig studios Well studios
-installers (and repacks)
-projects (gig's personal work, not stuff he's adapted made by others per se)
-patches (compatibility with gig's stuff)
assorted
-discoveries (the main type of stuff that's unique and not part of above)
-tools (basically stuff that wasn't in CAW tools)
-misc (whatever doesn't drop neatly from there)
Narf — Today at 3:22 AM Well ok, this just fixed the whole 9 button caategories structurre It can work ofc, we just needed final opinion on it.
Commodus have jumbed off from project, will need to re-evaluate my approach to make progress again, that the next thing to be done.
Yes, I've largely been unable to make progress on this. At OP's request I can drop the list(s) of links I have in backfile that may possibly help for sorting, and I may still be of use when it comes to descriptions.
