Default Question about lords' UI Portraits

I managed to add my own custom Legendary Lord to the game by copying and editting the work from a mod I downloaded and everything works as intended except one thing: there is no portrait of my lord in lord recruitment menu or in the armies/heroes panel (on the right side of the campaign screen). The unit card in the selected army panel (on the bottom of the screen) and in custom battle screen is OK.

I checked a few mods and there is something in:

    ui / portraits / portholes / ...

    a file called:

    portrait_settings__[mod_name].bin

notepad++ can't open it properly but what I can see, is that this file lists all the .png portrait files in "portholes" folder of the mod. And it contains some things I cannot see.

So the question is: with what tool do I open this .bin file OR where do I assign those lord portraits?
