Flinn, good on you mate for getting this artwork a spot on guess!
The works in the Ned Kelly collection was among Nolan's most famous works. The OG bushranger himself is considered somewhat of a folk hero in the land down under for his Robin Hoodesque actions in his feud with what he saw as an unjust authority due to the harsh circumstances of his youth and for his alleged defiance, even as he was hung.
Your turn!

To fight and conquer in all our battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting.

Not exactly a museum piece but an interesting piece regardless

Clue time: This piece does not come from any painting, expand your horizons.

ok so... since no one else seems to be interested in guessing, I'll step in again
That was a hard one, but the stile of the characters is pretty unique to the author (Shaun Tan) and eventually helped me in identifying this piece
that's the cover of "The Rabbit" fable by John Marsden, and unless I'm mistaken that should be an allegory reproduction of the Landing of Captain Cook.

That is correct, in all respects.
The Rabbits conveys some very mature themes for a children's picture book which is noticably absent in most others in the present and the artwork aids greatly in granting a very imposing and direct depiction of the damage caused by the British in an otherwise innocuous historical event (From the persepctive of most Europeans), an absolute shame that there are only a handful of children's books that depict colonization dive this deep with the absolute minimum of words.

He is indeed him, on his self portrait
If you don't know him, I suggest to have a read about him.. IMO his role as a precursor of the Impressionism is really understated.
over to you, can't rep you Querida.
