Default SSHIP v. 098 - archive of discussion during testing

    Hi everyone,

I really like a lot of the changes made in the .98 beta, particularly some of the map changes and edits to family trees.

I tried a Byzantine campaign after my HRE campaign was bogged down by crashes.

Unfortunately the crash related to missing mesh files stops me fighting many battles, I tried adding it in but still crashed so ther eight have been multiple units causing it.

Have any of the devs got a file they could share where this issue has been fixed?

On another note, I seem to get crashes when settlements change hands very often, not just military conquest but even when done through diplomacy. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix for it?

Jurand of Cracow has planned to release a new, less buggy beta 098 version.
Hope you can soon take advantage of the fixes that we are somehow making over time!

Any report will be appreciated. There're adjustements in the economy (lower income) that may be difficult for some factions, especially at the beginning. Furthermore, the knights are available from the Landowners buildings (perhaps only). There're also improved buildings and units, and some codes have been fixed as well. You may learn about them from the pre-views.

If I get some time this evening I'll fire it up and see how things go. Experiencing some technical difficulties with my laptop so I may not get a chance for a while, typical as a new version is released!

If I find any explainable crashes I'll post them in the bug reports thread, if none show up I'll keep an eye on campaign balance too

Can you upload a link? There is a fee for downloading this link and it has a limit

I don't think there's a fee for mega.nz even in Georgia. You may have limits on downloading but it will be time limits. The link is ok, I think.

there might be a time limit. you perhaps need to wait like 12 or 24 hours and it will resume loading.

Haha yes I am sending Manuel west to Antioch, hopefully he will find a crusader bride! The way the traits work now in SSHIP is truly a work of art, are their any plans to review the Roman units stats in upcoming releases too? I am planning on starting a campaign with Pisa as well.

as all the factions, the crusaders have a script giving them a princess every 40 turns from turn 60 (or so) onwards.

Review of the stats would be welcome but afaik we're busy with the other issues atm.

Pisa should be interesting as well, even though they don't have a special building yet (as the Sicily or the Northern factions do).
