Arcane on Netflix

So I was having a "surf Netflix Sunday morning" moment. Saw this show "Arcane" pop up and sure, I played league in 2015 or something why not see what it is about.

The first three episodes are actually incredibly good for this type of animation. I was a bit shocked honestly.

Saw act 2 today and they were just as good. Great show.

It's so damn good, right? Not only the story telling, but the animation might be the best I've ever seen.

I mean, just watch Jinx's face in this scene (spoilers)

Plus all the stuff with young Vi and Jinx is in this video is adorable too

Oh yeah this show is a gem, amazing writing, and animation. loved it. Even not knowing anything about league of legends.

They've made something truly special here. I love the animation and that they used a similar process to Into the Spider-Verse (to different ends, of course). The sound design, music, and voice acting are top notch. From both a technical and a storytelling point, this show is a masterpiece.

It was really good. I don't know why when I got bogged down and took a break that Ididn't eventually finish it. Even without knowing LoL lore well, it was great.

It was unexpectedly good. I was hoping to have an easy watch to unwind and turned it on but had to watch it all back to back. Great style of animation, captivating story telling and right on point music. Finished it wanting more of it.

Generally I don't like the steam punk aesthetic, the intro/theme song is horrible, it's a GREAT tv show.

So, like the previous one.

Are those two women (forget the names, 'cupcake sweet' police woman and pink-haired protagonist) still "Very good friends", or they stopped hiding? For a show that shows cougars going for the young boys and shows violence, TONS of violence, to pretend two of the protagonists are not into each other behind a very very thin veil is bizarre to say the least. Not to mention that in the brothel in the previous season we saw a lot of improper things.

I didn't get the impression that they were trying to hide anything in the first season. It was two people on opposing sides starting to feel things (if I remember correctly). The shocking thing for me would have been if in the second episode they were making out like crazy and in the third they were walking around holding hands.

Another three episodes today. The only issue I have with the series (apart from the opening song) is that sometimes you don't even really know what the story is, there are too many subplots and no clear main story. Speaking of which, have these been the last episodes of the season? Only 6 episodes? Anyway, awesome show.

Three more are coming next week.
And while it would be bizarre if those "two very good friends" started making out by the time they met, towards the end of the season it was much more nuisanced. Two women can be friends and risk their lives for each other and all - but that's not what was happening between these two.

It's the beginning of a complicated romance between two people. Why do you say "two very good friends" over and over again? Are you quoting the series? Do they refer to themselves at some point as "very good friends" ?

As you say, sometimes it's friendship and sometimes it's a romance or a sexual adventure (or a thousand other things). In this case, the relationship developed into a romance. Maybe my memory is failing me, but I still don't see the problem in the development of the relationship. What was so shocking about it?

I heard them being called "very good friends" by several people that didn't want to see this as what it was: a budding romance. I understand that people that have played these games may not like those two being in a relationship, but I have never played the games so to me, what I see in the show is my head-canon.
Furthermore, I think it was pretty clear from the episode with the brothel and the "Sweet as cupcake" that there was more than friendship between those two. And when people mentioned it on FB or other social media, there was a lot of pushback of "no! You are imagining things! they are very good friends"

While I would have liked it better if they explained what was going on with arcane a bit more, this series is at a completely different level of production and story telling than most works out there.
