I noticed that ovidiu has some days ago released a submod and I think this man should be given a medal.

I think this mod may be evaluated as having three solid contributions: mapping, campaign balancing and improving immersion. Thus I've decided to propose the gold level.

He would seem to be qualified for the bronze award

Awarded by the Curia for three or more of the following:
He does not fit the criteria for gold by definition, unless more contributions are added then the single one listed in the OP. If no more than a single qualifying contribution is presented then he only qualifies for bronze.

I don't think you could reasonably count that as a minor mod requiring something close to 24 hours of work. It's three sections of modding as well, so that meets the threshold.

I'd say that his mod could be split into about 4 or 5 minor mods at least.

    That's not how things work.

Okay? That's not how things work though. If someone made the entire Stainless Steel mod themselves, as impressive as it is, that's still one mod.

    This is a single contribution.

He qualifies under the subjective wording of a "remarkable act that benefits the TWC community". Also you're disregarding the other subjective parts within the award text. Why would you punish someone for releasing and continuing to work on only one mod? Some famous examples exist like leo.civil.uefs or alreadyded; they worked on their own mods and kept to themselves for the most part.

Not qualifying for an award is not a punishment. Am I being punished because I don't have a Phalera or a Novus? No, I'm just not qualified.

You are the one who proposed these requirements, remember?

Also you're disregarding the other subjective parts within the award text.
The only subjective part of the award text is the "remarkable act which benefits the modding community".

Simply releasing a mod, not matter how cool it is, does not qualify for that imo.

The award specifies certain prerequisites must be met to nominate someone. Based off of the current proposal, Ovidiu is only eligible for the Bronze award.

Why isn't it a remarkable act toward the modding community fix a large portion of the issues that plagued a major mod?

He qualifies for gold. There's more than 24 hours of work there, and not easy work at that. Relying solely on the quantitative limitation is retarded. I can do 3 things for 3 mods that take in total maybe 2 hours and get gold and someone who worked 24 hours on something major only gets bronze? Come on. Let's be trucking real here.

Those are the requirements that the Curia discussed and ratified.

Why isn't it a remarkable act toward the modding community fix a large portion of the issues that plagued a major mod?
    I didn't say it wasn't. I just said that releasing a mod wasn't a remarkable act.

I can do 3 things for 3 mods that take in total maybe 2 hours and get gold and someone who worked 24 hours on something major only gets bronze?
Huh? Did you even read the award requirements before you posted this?

6 hours is the requirement for bronze and 24 hours is the requirement for gold.

My point still stands. This guy worked for over 24 hours.

Unfortunately per the wording of the Constitution, the hour count does not matter as compared to the number of actions and the hours spent on each. At each level it states 1, 2, or 3+ items individually evaluated to have taken a respective 6, 12 or 24 hours apiece. While "or a remarkable act which benefits the modding community" is not bound to the hourage, it is made in the same statement that specifies amount and is not presented on its own, which to me holds it to the 1, 2 and 3 item minimums as well. Frankly I think this is evidence that the wording is still ed up and still needs amendment given there is a clear case where the word of the constitution sets a strict quantified limit but obviously people believe this is gold-teir work.

His one effort obviously blows the individual requirement away, but again, the levels are built on quantity and do not offer an exception for quality. Perhaps we can collectively agree to screw the text and state otherwise or execute a speedy amendment...

Oh it's ed up, but Akar has a point on pure lawyering. This is certainly grounds to change it so it is either more clear or simply more open; after all, other awards get away with being ambiguous on exact requirements just fine and it seems this hyper specific wording has already caused more problems than just leaving it to discretion.

    Yep.

I'm discussing a rewording with Araval right now and I think it's going well.

OP has been updated in the light of recent Legio Awards changes and Gold level attached to the proposal.
