Default How does campaign stealth works?

I'm sure that there is a new campaign stealth mechanic that came with 1.2.8.But what I'm not sure is if it's working correctly in my game because when I, for example, move an army around ( without spy),I can still discover other armies ( neutral and enemies alike).

You can see armies but you can't see all units in enemy army, you will just have question marks over their unit cards. If you get close enough or have a spy, you can see what stuff they are bringing.

Oh that clears up a lot, thanks. I watched your video on this new feature before and had the wrong expectation that it would make all armies hidden and the only way to discover them is to use spies, that would be immersive imo.

I've noticed that in Attila, some units can still be unknown at the start of combat. Is it possible for that to happen here? Is the effect just a tick box or does it have some kind of strength level so stealthier units could still be unknown? So far I always see all enemy units before combat, just wondering if it's modifiable.

Depends on what units you have and terrain.

We had more restricted unit vision but people universally hated it (while I liked it personally) so it was removed.

Would it be possible to create a submod for that? I'd enjoy it as well. Or could you tell me what to modify in PFM? Whichever is easier for you.
